Gun Fu --- the new EN Minigame

I appologize if my review seems harsh. Someone on another thread noted that it seemed much too negative for the numerical review I gave it (4.5 / 5). This was not intentional, and once I finish with another review that I'm working on I'll go back and see if I can brighten it up a bit. It was...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

That's a definate problem. Perhaps what the publishers need is a way to rate reviewers based on reliability. That way you can feel a bit more comfortably sending a product off to be reviewed. I'm working on two reviews right now for books that I recieved comp copies of yesterday, and though...

I GM'ed Castles and Crusades for the first time this weekend

Thanks all. Sorry for derailing the discussion.

I GM'ed Castles and Crusades for the first time this weekend

Just a quick question from someone who hasn't really looked at C&C, but is interested. When I want to put down all of the complex mechanics and step away from roleplaying for a little fast action, I usually just pick up OD&D in the form of the Compenium and did out my old adventures. What...

    Hawk & Fisher

There are ? I love those books, but I haven't ever read any of Green's other works. Any suggestions where to start?
  6. Master of the Game

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look back through the review and maybe edit it a bit. I liked the product but I do tend to be a bit critical. I'll try to focus a bit more on the possitive in the future.

Gun Fu --- the new EN Minigame

I'm sure it will probably work out better than it seems, since a character who doesn't use up all of his panache is relatively safe. But short of actually play-testing it, it just looks a little hinky. I wouldn't worry about how well you explained it, I think I got what you were going for...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

A little shameless plug: As I meantioned earlier, this thread has lit a fire under me, and encouraged me to write reviews myself. I've used reviews for years now to help me pick the products that I buy, and because of them I have picked up a lot of great products that I might have otherwise...

Gun Fu --- the new EN Minigame

Here is the link to my review. Sorry it's so late, but I forgot to post it when I got in :) It's my first review, so sorry if the format isn't great.

Gun Fu --- the new EN Minigame

I wrote a review of GunFu last night, but there wasn't a page for it yet. I requested one, and one is there now, but unfortuantely the review is on my work computer, so I won't be able to post it until tonight. If anyone is interested I'll link to it here when it goes up.

Add Gunfu to the product list

    My thanks

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

I personally don't think that there is anything wrong with comp copies, but at the same time, I do believe a reviewer should meantion that he recieved the copies from the publishers. This way, those who don't lend as much weight to reviews of free copies can take it with a grain of salt.

Add Gunfu to the product list

I have a review for the new GunFu PDF from EN Publishing that I'd like to add, but alas, it doesn't have a product page yet.
  15. Master of the Game

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

It's kind of funny... I've been a member here for well over two years, and have written roughly half of my threads in the last month :) I'm a lurker tried and true. But I have resolved to give back, and one of the first things that popped into my mind was to start reviewing. I'm glad this...

    [June] Campaign reports

Aracna Evolved/Eberron/(soon)Iron Heroes(hopefully :) ) I'm running two games right now, a weekly D&D game (see title) and a Spycraft game. Starting next week I'll be doing a short Fireborn "mini series" to check out the system. Our D&D game just began, so I'll describe that one. I may do a...

Anyone want to be a Newshound?

I would definately be interested. I'm a lurker mostly, but I'm here several times a day, as well as checking all the major game sites and forums. I basically spend all day on the web, I might as well be contributing :)
