    2007 ENnies Nominees - announced!

Personally I would love to see WotC participate.
  2. Master of the Game

I need a new (PC) game. Recommendations?

Sams has a pack with all three Guild Wars games for $50.
  3. Master of the Game

    2007 ENnies Nominees - announced!

It was originally released in French, but an English translation was released last year.
  4. Master of the Game

    2007 ENnies Nominees - announced!

I can only speak for myself and what I feel was the general mood of the discussions, but basically it comes down to the fact that the two categories weigh certain things differently. In this case you have two entries that the judges are fairly closely matched on. Either one could go either...

    2007 ENnies Nominees - announced!

It was easily one of the best reads of the process, and is something I immediately slated for play. Thanks a lot. I don't know what exactly I was expecting, but I'm happily surprised by the number of positive comments. I figured at least someone would have an objection to something. Thanks...

    Thieves World RPG

You know, I saw this post right before I left for work, and since I had to stop by my LGS today I decided to hop into the half-price books next door. I picked up a huge number of the early books for $1 a piece, including the first one, which I intend to read tonight. :)

    Yahoo! BillPay discontinuing service

My credit union has an epay service, which handles all of my bills, even the ones that require a check. They just send the check out for me. The service is free to all members.
  8. Master of the Game

    Thieves World RPG

If you like podcasts, Paul Tevis did an excellent review of the entire series on his fantastic show, Have Games, Will Travel.

PDF Lovers: Where else do you shop?

I use yourgamesnow whenever possible. If it's not something they carry I try e23, and hen failing everything else, I go to drivethrurpg. I've always had good experiences with PDFs from all three, but I like the mission behind yourgamesnow more. I love being able to use the search feature...
  10. Master of the Game

    Nominating process complete

It came directly to the judges, which I think was much better. We had little enough time as is, I couldn't imagine waiting for it to get shipped twice.
  11. Master of the Game

    Thieves World RPG

Certainly one of the best d20 adaptation extant, and very nearly completely compatible. The game uses a background system since it id human only That you might want to drop if you have other races, but that's it. I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for something a bit more dangerous...
  12. Master of the Game

    Nominating process complete

Monday the 9th I believe, but don't hold me to it. Edit: Voting should start the following week, on the 16th.
  13. Master of the Game

    Ceremony Volunteers

I think for the judges it's not so much a volunteer thing as a "if you're not there you will be hunted down and shot" thing. So, I guess I'll be there as well :)
  14. Master of the Game

    Nominating process complete

I posted this to my blog a while back, but I thought I'd drop it in here to show everyone how much was entered this year. There are two products, Campaign Cartographer 3 and Vampire: Dark Influences, that aren't pictured, but everything else is there.
  15. Master of the Game

    Nominating process complete

I mentioned it on my blog, but I thought I'd post it here as well. The judges for this year's Ennie Awards have completed their nominating process, so look for an announcement in the next couple days. This doesn't include the fan's Best Publisher award though, so keep those nominations coming...

Five Fingers: Port of Deceit -- how is it?

For me it was the presentation. It gave me everything I needed to run the city as a real, living setting, without taking 700 pages to do it. If you were a fan of the IK first, and then moved into the city I could see where it might rub you the wrong way. It's basically its own setting. Sure...

Five Fingers: Port of Deceit -- how is it?

I'd say surprisingly so, considering how different the Iron Kingdoms are from other worlds. It is somewhat married to the history, and more importantly the races, of the world, but the 'jacks and such don't play a huge role. It is first and foremost a pirate city, with excellent rules for...
  18. Master of the Game

Five Fingers: Port of Deceit -- how is it?

Absolutely amazing. It single-handedly sold me on the other Iron Kingdoms books. Definitely one of the best books I've read this year. I do have a review of it on my blog, but honestly it's not particularly informative. If I have some time later I'll try and get it out and answer questions...

    Shadowrun v4 - Your Experience

I've been playing a weekly game for several months now, and we really like it. I've played all the previous editions, and there is no doubt in my mind that this is the best. Simple ease of use makes the game more approachable, and the new system for successes makes play faster and more...

    Judging the ENnies products

DaveMage. I think you just earned yourself a ban from the internet. You disgust me. :) I don't envy you that. I'm having a heck of a time picking out just five products in most of the categories as is. Funny, I thought things like Best Game, or Product of the Year would be the hardest...
