"Sounds good to me," Jarek agrees. He heads toward the other tower cautiously.

Kill Bargle! Pathfinder RPG OOC Thread

Cool. Also, if anybody wants to take a look at my character, I'm looking for ideas on how to spend a couple hundred more GP. I'm worried the character is going to be kind of ineffective in combat. It relies on hitting a lot (ranged touch and melee touch) but the attack bonus isn't all that...

    WD's "Base of Operations" OCC

I've been seeing some slowness myself, lately. Hopefully it will shake itself out.

Are we dead? I hope people aren't waiting for me?

Kill Bargle! Pathfinder RPG OOC Thread

Here's my start. It's mostly done but for equipment. Terry the Gnome Sorcerer: Teratogen ("Terry") Male Gnome Sorcerer (Aberrant Bloodline) Hit Dice: 3d6+9+6(Toughness) (31 Hit Points) Alignment: Chaotic Good Str: 8 (-1) [2 points -2 Racial] Dex: 14 (+2) [6 points] Con: 16 (+3) [6 points +2...

Kill Bargle! Pathfinder RPG OOC Thread

Ok, BrandingOpp, I'm up for this. It looks like the basic roles are covered, so do you have a preference for what I play? Since you and Rolling Man both seem to think Sorcerers are a little weak, I could do another one with a different focus and bloodline, and we could really give the class...

    D&D races and accents/voices

In my game... For some reason I play goblins with raspy, gravelly voices. Sort of like Yoda without the semantics problems. Orcs always get a deep-throated thug voice (usually with a cockney accent thrown in). Too much Tolkien, I guess. :) Elves in my game speak with a generic high-class...

    I Really Like Keywords

I suppose you can get carried away with anything, but the idea that "game thing X" is also a "game thing Y" can be very handy. Creature types were a big boon when trying to describe what creatures should be affected by certain magic, for example. Same with spell descriptors. But I agree that...

    WD's "Base of Operations" ICC

"That's for me," Jarek says. "If you, Warren and I go up, the two of you can rain down fire on the courtyard while I keep the orcs at bay."

    I Really Like Keywords

The direction of the rules in general in both 3.x and 4E reminds me very much of Object-Oriented Programming. So maybe the class Hammer implements the interfaces "heavy throwable", "melee" and "versatile". Or half-orc implements "humanoid", "orc" (since they are treated as orcs for all...

I'll try to cook up a character tonight or tomorrow, but don't wait for me. If Wilbur jumps in, that's great.

The Odyssey System -- Stripped-down Hot Rod d20 rules

I'm psyched about Odyssey. Between this and Pathfinder (for my fantasy fix) I'm officially in the "Not going to 4E" camp.

    WD's "Base of Operations" ICC

Jarek says "Why don't we just go up the stairs, and avoid the courtyard altogether?" His eyes become slightly unfocused as he is clearly picturing himself heroically confronting orcs on the battlements, complete with dramatic backlighting.

Kill Bargle! Pathfinder RPG OOC Thread

I'll lurk along with Rolling Man. :) I'm in Walking Dad's Pathfinder-inspired houserules test (and it's very cool so far, WD) so I'd be up for another if you lose some players. I may cook up a character just to give the creation rules a spin, but it looks like the party's full for now.

    WD's "Base of Operations" ICC

Jarek sighs in obvious irritation at Collan's flair for subterfuge. He says to the priest, "I'd rather have a stand-up fight, but if you insist...be careful."

    WD's "Base of Operations" ICC

Jarek moves to the door with Paldon. "All right. Let's move out. Stick close together." OOC: I assume Jarek and one of the other heavy hitters will be up front. One of the "tough guys" should probably be in back as well, in case of sneaky ambushes. :)

    WD's "Base of Operations" ICC

Jarek finally shrugs the heavy portcullis off his back, wincing as it breaks the silence with a rather final-sounding boom. He gets heavily to his feet, stretches the kink out of his back and says, "Well done, all. Is everyone all right?"

Yeah. I can't wait 'til we hit 10th level and just teleport everywhere. :)

Just want to let you guys know I'm still here and paying attention. Just waiting for everyone to be inside and word from WD that Jarek can act again. :)
