Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

It's worth noting that DIS uses the same phrasing as two weapon fighting. "When wielding an implement in each hand". I checked the errata, but there is no change to this wording. Staff Fighting: "You can treat the quarterstaff as a double weapon" Double Weapons (sidebar replacement from the...

I'm not sure what you're looking for here. A feat that does not use the word bonus(es)? Re-read my comments from post 32 about the uses of "Enhancement" as they appear in different rules contexts and maybe give me a clearer idea what you want me to find.

If, for the sake of argument, KG was the only system of measurement for weight. No grams, no pounds, nothing else (since quantities of damage only have a single unit of measurement). I was leaving home when I posted that and exactly what you said occurred to me. And thank you Nichwee.

"If...blah blah blah, then you can add your weight to damage rolls." So for this sentence it's important (and makes sense) that it be "82 kilograms" added to damage rolls and not just 82?

I get it....staff isn't a weapon anymore is that it? Or is it that it isn't an implement? [/sarcasm] And yes CB has lots of bugs. Wouldn't it be nice if we (the community) could find them...bring them to the attention of CS and get them fixed and in the process maybe get some rules clarified?

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

There are kind of two separate debates going on here. My initial question about why doesn't DIS work with Inherent and the exact meaning of DIS. @Oldtimer: I really wish you had addressed my comments in post 32. I think that more accurately describes the core debate and the difference...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

I had a whole section written here to respond to this, then decided it was wrong and started over because in the end we're fighting over language. What I realized is that we're debating the definition of "Enhancement bonus" as used in the rules text as I will illustrate below. There are two...

I am highlighting the exact wording of the of the feat the same as Draco did. Words have meaning. In this case [the off-hand implement's enhancement bonus] has meaning....it means how much bonus do we get. If it somehow does NOT mean this then you get no bonus at all. Assumption: You are...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

'When you use an arcane attack power and you are wielding a magic implement in each hand, you can add [the off-hand implement's enhancement bonus] OR [quantity] to damage rolls.' There is no explicit type given to the bonus therefore it is untyped and stacks with anything. See the above. DIS...

Can Dominate disarm a person's weapon?

This is not new. This has been a staple of the game since AD&D unless you're suggesting one more sacred cow for the spit. Also, Inherent bonuses makes this go away. Fine... verisimilitude I get it. That response was a pure RAW answer to the OP. And likely the one that I'll use if it ever...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

First DIS does not create an exception to how enhancement bonuses stack. It grants you a untyped bonus equal to the enhancement bonus of the equipped off-hand item. Second DIS is the "named game element" source of the bonus not the equipped item. Third Staff Fighting is not required to equip...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

    @AbdulAlhazred: My party composition for the fight in question was as follows(level 14): Ranger: 422 37.1% Fighter (Urgrosh): 225 19.8% Bard: 156 13.7% Rogue: 130 11.4% Sorcerer: 101 8.9% Warlord: 52 4.6% Fighter(sword/board): 50 4.4% With optimization I was able to...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

You need DIS, as well as several other things. Last session I was using DM Battlescreen to track combat. At the end I wound up with my archer Ranger doing 37% of all the damage in a 7 player party (42% would have been 3 players worth of damage). This forced me to seriously look at all the...

IAoP are not replaced every 5 levels like the 3 core Enhancement items are. IMO Inherent is a way to run a game as a low magic world because you don't need to pass out anywhere near as many magic items per level because once you get a magic weapon/implement you'll never need to replace it...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Let me put it a different way. If I'm a Fighter I can go through my entire career using a normal non-magical weapon and using the Inherent bonus system I will never suffer any ill effect. I won't miss any bonuses to hit or damage ever. If however, I'm a spell caster, there is this feat that...

You sir have missed the entire point of using the Inherent bonuses if you have to keep getting new magic weapon/armor/neck every 5 levels.

Can Dominate disarm a person's weapon?

I think that those of us that are opposed to this are opposed to it on the bag of rats basis. 4e does not have a "Disarmed" condition so anything that you do along those lines would have to be a house rule. To the OP: I think the basis I would use on this is that creature design and PC...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

To be clear the damage bonus is untyped equal to the Enhancement bonus of the off hand item (which since it works for the Ranger...) Still seems like a nerf to spell casters. OK...so we have an off hand item with an Enhancement bonus based on level, but it isn't magical since that's the only...

When it displays the damage breakdown of your power it lists quite clearly "+x Enhancement bonus - Inherent Bonuses" for main hand items. So an enhancement bonus isn't an enhancement bonus?

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

One other question....so how does that work with Rangers wielding two weapons? Does their off hand attack not get the "Intrinsic" bonus either? So a level 30 Ranger wielding two non-magical weapons using twin strike would have one attack at normal and the other and -6 to hit/damage?
