    Less Than Max Sneak Attack

I'm too lazy to check the actual rule, but IIRC, you can take a -4 to hit and do subdual damage. So, it'd be 7d6 sneak attack dice, but it's just subdual damage. I think it might just work with saps or unarmed though...read the SA description or someone else will correct me I'm sure.:D

    foiling blindsight?

Etherealness beats it. And although Blink doesn't completely defeat it, it DOES allow rogues to sneak attack creatures with Blindsight, assuming the other conditions (not immune, no concealment, etc.) are met. I think a blinking rogue should have a 50% chance of successfully hiding, since they...

    Ring of Blinking question

I think you answered your own question with the above information. What else is needed? Let's review...the ring is command activated, and it works AS THE SPELL. We therefore know that it is NOT one of the continuous varieties of rings. Here is a list of Continuous rings (found by simply...

    Sneak Attacking

I haven't checked out the thread, but I disagree with your assessment, for these reasons: 1."On command, this ring makes the wearer blink, as with the blink spell."[emphasis mine] 2.Blink has a duration of 1 rnd/level, caster level of ring is 7=duration of 7 rounds. 3.SRD:"Activation...

    Sneak Attacking

Wrong on all 3 counts. It's a 20% miss chance, as mentioned already. And Ghost Touch doesn't help because you are ethereal, NOT incorporeal. They are separate and different special abilities. You would need a houseruled weapon enhancement like, I dunno...Ethereal Touch? Better hope no...

    Chain Shirt - too good?

Casting Ironwood wouldn't help. Armor is still not "normally made from wood".

    Chain Shirt - too good?

"Items not normally made of wood or only partially of wood (such as a battleaxe or a mace) either cannot be made from darkwood or do not gain any special benefit from being made of darkwood." Barring a house rule, your armor is just expensive junk. It didn't occur to anyone that wearing wooden...

Actually, use the most recent errata, done in Song and Silence.

    Multiclass questions

Re: Quick clarification please. Your house rule is not a house rule at all...it is how the core rules work. Class and XClass skills are Character Level+3 max rank. Exclusive skills though, are Class Level +3 max rank. A Fighter/Rogue who levels up as a Fighter cannot purchase ranks of Use...

    Dual-wielding Slings?

Not true. You can dual throw javelins just fine without the TWF feat...but you won't get the penalty offset that a dagger wielder would with the feat. The lack of the TWF feat working for ranged weapons does NOT prevent the ranged weapon wielder from dual-wielding.

    Dual-wielding Slings?

The whip is a ranged weapon (projectile to be precise). Ambidexterity works just fine with dual-wielding ranged weapons, as far as offsetting penalities go. TWF does not work with ranged weapons. It very clearly states this in the PHB. It doesn't matter where it was placed within the book...

PrC Multiclassing Arcane Archer and IOoB broken?

You gotta be kidding me. Did you forget that Haste adds a +4 to your AC, that stack with everything? That's like a +4 armor bonus already. Then add the fact that you can cast spells every round, all day long, or make an additional attack every round all day. This is the first time I've ever...

PrC Multiclassing Arcane Archer and IOoB broken?

:D I concur. This pi$$ing contest between archers is stale compared to the room temp MD. Perhaps the color of the MD (it being so close to the color of another liquid I mentioned earlier) was a portent? Sorry, I know that was a reach, but Rackhir inspired my descent.:D To add...

    Spring attack question

I disagree. Taking a 5' step means you are being careful and avoiding AoO's. As soon as you move, you will get AoO's from 3 foes in the original example, unless you first declared your movement to be a 5' step. Period. You cannot decide whether your 5' step was a move or an actual 5' step...

    Spring attack question

Taking a 5' step and moving 5' are different. You can't move 5' and pretend like it's a 5' step, and (if things go the way you want) decide to continue moving with spring attack. In the case above, unless you specifically stated that are taking a 5' step (not just moving 5'), you will get 3...

    Attacking a Grappled Pair?

One thing that isn't crystal clear, is: do rogues get sneak attack damage against their ally if they miss their foe with a ranged weapon within 30'? Grappled foes (and allies) lose their dex bonus to AC. Ranged attacks against grappled foes roll randomly to determine who is targeted. This...
