Ranger TWF and Drawing Weapons

Right, I got that. You 'fight' as though you had the feats. Like I said, in order to 'fight' with weapons, you need to draw them first right? My point is that drawing a weapon IS part of fighting. Unless, that is, you think you can kill someone by slamming your hips into them with your...

    Ranger TWF and Drawing Weapons

Isn't it kind of hard to fight with weapons unless you draw them first? Seems like a silly debate to me. YMMV.

    Cover and Shield spell

No, the Shield "knows" when to move out of the way of your attacks. Here, let the SRD speak for itself:"The disk moves out of the way when the character attacks, so it does not provide cover to opponents."

    Rogues and sneak attack question

Yes, but that's because normally, someone with blindsight can detect you while you are invisible. However, when you are blinking, you are ethereal, and blindsight does not pick you up. Would a See Invisible work vs. a blinking character? EDIT: I answered my question: it says under Blink that...

    Rogues and sneak attack question

I didn't think of that. I assumed that since your foe is denied dex due to your intermittent invisibility, then blindsight would negate it. However, since you are invisible WHEN you are ethereal, blindsight won't pick you up. Sweet, so I can sneak attack dragons after all...

Prestige class focusing on item creation?

I started a new PrC called the Crafter (ooooo how original:D), but it's unfinished. The Crafter is a special maker of magic. They have an ability to create items that most other casters can only dream of. They have learned the ancient, hidden secret magic that artifacts and relics are imbued...

    Ring of Invisibility Question

Well, according to the rules, you are incorrect. You'd need the 3rd level spell Invisibility Sphere to pull this off. From the SRD, the spell Invisibility:"If the recipient is a creature carrying gear, the gear vanishes, too. If the character casts the spell on someone else, neither the...

Do ranged touch attacks (rays, etc.) provoke AoO's?

Hope you don't mind, but I just quoted you on the WotC board, giving you props of course. If you'd like to read the thread, it's under the PHB section titled Ranged touch spells/AoO's. Aw hell, here it is:http://boards.wizards.com/rpg/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=109;t=003386;p=1

Do ranged touch attacks (rays, etc.) provoke AoO's?

Ok, ya got me there.;) That makes sense. But, is there an official ruling on this? I was fairly adamant before, but now I'm on the fence. It seems like this should have come up on these boards by now. Maybe it did and I missed it. The more I think about it, the more confused I get...

Do ranged touch attacks (rays, etc.) provoke AoO's?

Here's the problem...it makes Concentration useless for those spells. I see this as unbalancing. But maybe not.<shrug> Is this how you've been playing it Caliban (just noticed your post)?

Do ranged touch attacks (rays, etc.) provoke AoO's?

Ok, so I'm in the middle of a nice debate over on the WotC board. We're arguing, excuse me, discussing:D, whether casting a ranged touch attack spell in melee provokes 2 AoO's. Their argument stems from rays being treated as ranged weapons and full attack actions not provoking...

    Epic Rogues

I disagree. TS gives you temporary insight into the future, which is why you get to bypass the miss chance. IMO, the rogue also gains knowledge of where the vitals are, and since there's no miss chance...KAPOW! However, technically speaking, the concealment is still in existance, so if...

Rogue with Blink gets Sneak Attack! (Thanks)

Re: Re: Does Blink give Sneak Attack, though? I agree completely. The 50% miss chance granted from Blinking is not concealment. It is due to the fact that you are blinking in and out of ethereality. Look at it this way...when you ARE ethereal, you are also invisible, so they are occuring...

Is a Rogue proficent with a Kukri?

The Sage told me "no" in an email. No kukris w/o the EWP feat.

    Move Silently while Tumbling?

Man, I'd forgotten just how MANY rules there were in the DMG on this. Check that Scent ability out again, cuz I thought the way it read (under Invisibility, not Scent), that it pretty much works as well as blindsight vs. invisibility. I'm away from the book again.<sigh> I could be wrong...

    Move Silently while Tumbling?

It wasn't insulting, I just couldn't tell who you were talking to. Ok. If someone spends the skill points on tumble, they get to use it. Of course they should take advantage of it. And they won't always tumble either. In combat, sure, but what is your beef, with the tumble skill...

    Move Silently while Tumbling?

Ok, so I'll ask you too. Why? It's +1/10' actually. The Listen skill doesn't mention that you pinpoint someone's exact location, just that you hear the noise. You then use your eyes to find them. Doing this with normal ears only from anything but melee seems unbalancing to me for...

    Move Silently while Tumbling?

Who is "you"? Please do not use pronouns when you are obviously replying to multiple people.:D I don't see how this is unbalancing. So what? The rogue, with his ring of Invisibility, can waltz around his enemies unbeknownst to them until he finally decides to attack. Big deal...

    Trips?

You might be right, and Caliban. However, the concept of provoking AoO's while unarmed stems from the fact that most unarmed combatants are much less of a threat that way, hence the AoO. A cleric with Harm blazing off his hand is definitely more of a threat than Bob the fighter whose ax just...

    Trips?

A trip is an attack action, which can be made either unarmed or with special weapons. Notice under trip it says, "Making a Trip Attack: Make a melee attack as a melee touch attack." You don't usually make melee touch attacks with a weapon.:D Oh, and yes you provoke an AoO for attacking...
