    And in 2014?

Well, Usually late January, early February, is when they have the WotC Winter Experience.. it'll prove interesting to see if they officially announce a release timeframe for DNDNext then.. I would think they'd have to if the launch is at GenCon. If not until the Fall of 2014 or into 2015...

THE STRANGE - Monte Cook & Bruce Cordell's new Kickstarter next week

Just thought I'd post an Update as the Kickstarter for The Strange is now into it's last 31hours. It's hit 330K as of now, and has a decent amount of product in the pipeline. If anyone was interested but still hasn't backed it, like Numenara, this uses the same system of mechanics. You can...

Awesome, thanks for all the hard work Morrus Glad to see the Legcay style back. :)

    New forum style available

There are enough changes between the Noah (and sub-Noah) and the Reborn skins that it's distracting. I feel like I've fallen back 10 years, which is fine for a bit of nostalgia, but I was really comfortable with the Reborn skin. Could the Reborn skin use a few minor adjustments, yes, I found...

    OOTS 929

Rich has said in the past that the strip doesn't adhere to 3.5 mechanics. Although based on it, and some early jokes tied itself to 3.0 and then 3.5, he's distanced the comic from being influenced by mechanics over the storytelling. In other words, everything is houseruled.

    New forum style available

Nice bit of nostalgia, but we seem to have lost the pre-crash black/normal style which I liked. Can we get that back shortly. Thanks.

numerera GM intrusions: help me get it

Think of Intrusions as Complications to the Narrative.. That small but significant plot twist, where, while perhaps expected, but most likely not, things go sideways for the PC's. Perhaps the console to door they were hacking to get to a specific area goes haywire and opens a different...

THE STRANGE - Monte Cook & Bruce Cordell's new Kickstarter next week

I think they have a longer time frame for this kickstarter, and the options are laid out differently. With less than a little over 800 people and already over 106 thousand in the pot, if they continue the trend, they'll probably match or exceed the Numenara totals, possibly with less total...

THE STRANGE - Monte Cook & Bruce Cordell's new Kickstarter next week

So the Kickstarter for this will be going up live at 8am Pacific time. Looking forward to it, as they've been dropping some interesting hints on their G+ accounts. Edit: added link below. And for those who haven't checked the main page, here is the link to the kickstarter...

    Numenera's Limited License

Has anyone asked for a full copy of the license to read over? I'm curious what happens when the 2k limit is reached. Perhaps I missed it in this thread, but I didn't see anyone post it yet. I'm guessing it's a license to limit people spamming out third party product, ie, to help keep some...

D&D 5E (2014) Tracking without "tracking" feature, tripping without "trip"

Oh, I agree, it's adding a new level of complexity to the game. But there is probably(I have no verifiable proof of this, it's just a guess) a large enough audience to create a module for this type of complexity. Other game systems have various degrees of success mechanics. Technically the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Power/Spell scaling seems off

I think with the idea of being able to use many lower monsters for larger scale encounters, those powers will still be useful in dropping the lvl 2-3 mooks when you're at level 10. Are they less useful against the lvl 10 sub-boss, perhaps, but keep in mind that they still also have work...

D&D 5E (2014) Tracking without "tracking" feature, tripping without "trip"

I'd like to see some Optional Guidelines/Suggestions in the DMG for Degress of success and failure for D20 checks. I know Lore checks in 4th, and possibly 3rd had varying levels of success on information passed back to the party based on the number rolled. I want to see something similar for...

    D&D 5E (2014) Kender are a core race?

From what I've read and understand, there will be things in the "Core" Rules PHB, DMG that are not part of the Basic or Standard gameplay without DM permission. IE: Kender and Warforged are in the "Core" Rules but are not Core due to setting specifics. If playing Dragonlance, or Eberron...

    Silhouette Core resources/advice?

Well, there are some resources in the download section for SilCore on the www.DP9.com website. An FAQ, weapon&armour list, and a few other things. The biggest addition from 2nd ed Silhouette system to SilCore is the complexity modifiers. Although I keep to the 2nd ed version of Heavy Gear...

    Masterplan-less

Although I'm now moving on from 4th ed, while I was DM'ing it I was using this program. http://www.dragonpro.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=53&view=viewcategory&catid=2 He hasn't done any further updates on it for over a year, and seems to have stopped any of his monster designer...

    Pathfinder 1E Emerald Spire SuperDungeon

Yes, the Emerald Spire is the KS reward for those who backed the MMO earlier this year. Basically each designer gives a short overview of their level. At least up to the point of where I've watched the video.

Numenera: Adventures in the Ninth World

I'd say yes, there are posts on Google Plus about people running Hangouts with Numenara. GM's don't need to roll dice, as the players are the ones to attempt to bypass thresholds to hit, dodge or perform other actions. Either as long as you have faith in the players dice reporting skills, or...

Numenera: Adventures in the Ninth World

The thing regarding the setting is that almost anything from medieval style sword and sorcery to high tech monstrosity can and should be used. This allows a great amount of freedom to pull ideas in from multiple sources for use. If you can think of it, one of the previous eight ages could have...
