On my older PC it takes about 15 seconds to register the copy as image, but no crashing. On both my office PC and my laptop it works fine. You might post in the Monster Builder forum and see what they might suggest.

I didn't hear what edition you're using, but if you're using 4e and have DMG 2, you could refluff the Rod of 7 Parts into this broken blade. Each one directs you to the next piece, and gets more powerful as each is put together. Add Weem's bit about the shards corrupting the current wielders...

I've been using a bunch of the empire officers and the imperial troopers as soldiers in my steam-punk-ish skyship D&D game. They reflect the trade council that runs everything.

Agreeing with the masses; I don't have a solid "no" rule, anymore. If it's in the DDi, I'll allow it, barring some obviously broken issues (most of them have been cleared up nicely in eratta, too).

Nope; don't consider it a game for newbies anymore than I consider it a game for experienced players only. It's a game system that covers a lot of ground.

4e here. Haven't touched any others since we hit our stride with this edition last October. Not likely to switch out any time soon, either. Viva La 4e!

Completely and totally use them. We cut them out and slip them in the trading card protectors (which allow you to write over them with dry-erase pens, making bonus/penalites easier to keep track of). One of the smoother ideas, imo, for 4th edition.

Received mine last week and busted them out during our game; reinvigorating the group during a particularly nasty combat. I like the Eldritch blast, myself.
