I think that's very true, Stalker. If it's just sneaking into the X without getting caught, I can do a quick on-the-fly couple of skill checks with stealth, perception, etc... I don't need to spend any time putting together a series of successes/failures for the situation. The skill challenge...

Nothing, really, I guess. With the compendium and builder, I have access to the data on my computer. I can print off the monsters for each encounter, formatting them as I see fit. With a 3rd party book, I've got stuff outside those two toolsets. That reduces the overall effectiveness for me...

I do word documents session-by-session. Each encounter will take up one page, as do skill challenges. I have a brief outline detailing NPC's or plot points I dont' want to forget. Any specific handouts (letters, pictures, what-have-you) are also put together and put on my gaming clip-board...

Doesn't bother me in the least. I threw out the idea of alignment back in early 3e. I like that WotC finally caught on, as well. It's nice that they have an idea (unaligned, evil, etc..), but really, I don't need a pile of good-aligned creatures in my MM that I'd use maybe once in ten years...

One thing that works, for me, is to setup word so it copies only text. That cleans up the text quite well. Then, with quick use of highlighter/bold, I mark the things I want/need to be reminded of and I'm solid. Ktulu

I think a "Related Articles" section would be pretty nice, with one exception. D&D can tag a lot of stuff. Feats, Powers, Class, Race, Level, Alignment, Deity, and so on that it could get somewhat bloated. I think that the solution should rest with the compendium. Add more tabs for things...
