Are you looking for random NPCs? If so, PCGen does have the beginnings of an NPC generator.

When was the last time you used PCGen? I haven't seen that kind of lag in quite some time. It used to be that sluggish, that I'll grant. But the code team has taken leaps and bounds in increasing the program speed.

PCGen recently added an NPC generator. I think its at 0.1 release, but is is there. You can pick all the classes up front if you want. Unless they're classes that have some sort of requirement on them for entry (like prestige classes). Then you'll need to have the bare-bones requirements met...

Other than the below-mentioned WotC books, what else are you looking for? I know one problem that CMP had was that they didn't get advanced copies of the new books. They had to wait like everyone else.

Yeah, the custom editors have typically lagged behind. They're on the "to do" list, but they usually lose against other items to improve the code. I think most of the typical data monkeys (me included) use some sort of text editor.

That was WotC's call, not CMP's. CMP didn't have an exclusive license. When other chargens talked about it, at least Mynex (I think Lone Jedi as well) said to go ahead and approach WotC to ask.
