D&D 5E (2014) Would you allow this if you were the DM

Natural armor is not wearing armor, it is natural. But the formula for calculating unarmed defense for monk doesn't take natural armor into account so you wouldn't use it. AC would be 10+(bear dex mod)+wis mod, you don't add 1 for the natural armor it just becomes pointless.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you allow this if you were the DM

Your AC would be 10+(animal form Dex mod)+wis mod, not the AC of the animal +wis mod.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you allow this if you were the DM

I would not allow it. The reasoning behind calling natural attacks, unarmed strikes is false in my opinion. The spell alter self transforms your hands to have claws on them, you are still humanoid. No other place in any of the books does it even come close to calling natural attacks of...

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

No according to the rules you make a stealth roll to hide vs passive perception in combat, if there was supposed to be advantage or disadvantage all the time you think the rules would mention it.

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

What? if the action is not worth taking the action there is no reason for it to exist. If there was a thumb up the caboose action you could take that didn't do a darn thing it would be a waste of space on the page and it would indeed need to justify it's existence in a list of actions that are...

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

Why would just being in combat be enough of a reason to impose disadvantage on hide checks?

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

Hide as a bonus action using the rogue cunning action ability to gain advantage on your next attack. Move>Hide>Attack(w/advantage)>Move some more Lets you target enemies that are not adjacent to allies for sneak attacks and gives you a better chance to hit, great for ranged builds...

D&D 5E (2014) Spell combos under Concentration economy

How is the air elemental invisible if you are concentrating on the conjure elemental spell, you won't be able to keep either invisibility or greater invisibility up as well? But the general idea of casting buff spells like mage armor on high dex summons is a good one.

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e re-launches as Fight Club 5th Edition

I run my games from a windows based laptop, any way to run this app on that? I figure there might be an emulator or something but I have never tried to run an Iphone app on my PC before.

D&D 5E (2014) What kind of adventures would you rather see for 5th edition?

A healthy dose of both. Love AP's for what they are, but good individual adventures even short ones like from Dungeon magazine are great for using to spice things up in an ongoing campaign or to just take ideas from. Now that I do most if not all my gaming on Roll20 I like colorful grid maps...

D&D 5E (2014) So I think the Designers get the "Alertness" feat wrong and made it OP

Just how many times is there going to be an assassination attempt on the characters in a campaign? How many of those times is the one member of the party with the Alert feat going to be the primary target? If a character spends a feat on Alert and the most OP thing that happens with it, is he...

D&D 5E (2014) So I think the Designers get the "Alertness" feat wrong and made it OP

Let us examine the feat as it is written now. ALERT Always on the lookout for danger, you gain the following benefits: You gain a +5 bonus to initiative. You can't be surprised while you are conscious. Other creatures don't gain advantage on attack rolls you as a result of being hidden from...

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell attack rolls

Spells use the spell attack modifier. Ranged for the most part is there so that you know it can be used at the range listed in the spell and as a key word to denote that if used while adjacent to an enemy you will have disadvantage on the attack.

D&D 5E (2014) So I think the Designers get the "Alertness" feat wrong and made it OP

There are a few things that modify initiative and make you immune to surprise. Surprise Immunity Alertness feat Weapon of Warning (uncommon magic weapon) Ioun Stone of Awareness (rare magic item) Feral Instincts (Barbarian ability 7th level) Foresight (9th level spell) Initiative Bonus...

    D&D 5E (2014) Banshee is Nasty!

Combined banshee with a couple wil-o'-wisps a few weeks ago, scared the party something good. The wisps draining life when next to a person at 0 h.p is just a great combination. Didn't have any deaths but came down to one save or die instance.

D&D 5E (2014) Dex to AC when unconscious?

This, AC is AC. Unconscious, bound, paralysed, stunned or other conditions that might reduce mobility don't take away from AC just give the enemy advantage on the roll. It is a way to streamline things and keep the game moving and fun instead of worrying about a bunch of minor bonuses and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Out of Combat Woes

Even when I ran skill challenges in 4e the best way is to just have the players describe the characters actions. Go from there. So the way I do it is go around the table so you don't miss anyone and do as you do and ask them what they want to do in the situation. Don't resolve it at that point...

D&D 5E (2014) Party optimisation vs Character optimisation

You take human get the feat, go warlock 2, maybe more but that is all that is needed for agonizing blast and devils sight (better than darkvision). Multiclasing into a few of the cleric domains gives you heavy armor prof don't worry about the strength min or do or be a dwarf. You don't get...
