as a side note, i have seen more sets of "magical clothes" blow up in item destruction (natural one) rolls than any other item. we've had 4 blow up in the past 6 months... i think it's the fact that they have hardly any hit points... "Look! Naked Monk!" :D :D :D

as a side note, it's amusing how the tree-hugging druids have become pyros in 3e. i figure a fireball wouldnt set off a forest fire unless there was gunpowder or something lining the trees - if all those druids can cast flamestrike at will, let the mage have his fireball.

if it is a wizard or cleric that is being bugged by the monk... have them fly or airwalk away! whee! "Oh look!" pointing towards the monk, "A target!"

a wizard can always choose to cast a spell at a lower level - but it must at least be the minimum level for the spell. so, in your fireball example, you could choose to cast it at 5th level (not 3rd) because that is the minimum level. hope that helps! :)

i would do intelligence, because if you ever increase your intelligence - it is best to do it early for more skill points.
