    Names of places?

Most of the time, names for places/people/things pop into my head at inopportune times. I then jot them down for later reference. Just did that the other day, actually.

    Historically Themed Campaigns/Settings

Well, it does apply in that the thread is about historical culture-based campaigns (what I meant by "Themed"), but it also doesn't apply because said campaign is using OA, which I figure alot of people are using now. It's more interesting to hear (IMHO) if people are playing any...

    Historically Themed Campaigns/Settings

I'm more of this mind as well, but to each their own, right? If one guy wants Dragons running the Roman empire, while another wants it to be as accurate as possible, then more power to them. Neither is wrong or better. Also, as an aside, I'm very impressed by the number of responses this...

OT I have asked this elsewhere :( This is sad news

My prayers go out to you, Brandon, and all involved in this trying time. Take solace in the bountiful support you've garnered from people who don't even know you. :)

"Love to Hate" versus "Hate to Hate"

I'd once read that the key to the most chilling villain is some sort of familiarity. Something with which the reader (or in this case, the players) could relate to the villain, and realize the humanity of their opponent. Just my 2 cents.

    Historically Themed Campaigns/Settings

With the recent discussion on Egyptian, Greek, and Roman gods in another thread, it's piqued my curiosity to know who, if anybody, is running a historically themed campaign? Not so much taking place on the real world, but just themed as such. If so, tell us about it here. How well is it going...

    (OT)???Egypt and Greece Classes???

One little bit to add on here, you can find some pretty solid info on using Egyptian and Greek gods in D&D in Deities and Demigods. Sadly no Roman religion information, but the other two should be a good basis.

    (OT)???Egypt and Greece Classes???

What's wrong with the ones in the PHB? I've had a player play an Egyptian-styled mage from Mulhorand, and another play a Roman-styled gladiator from Unther. Both went really well. I can't really think of any rule-based stuff that'll get in the way of using the regular classes. Use your...

...the REST of our gaming groups

As I see it, it isn't so much as a lack of interest on everyone's part (though that's a factor), but that most books cost quite a bit of money. Especially with WotC releasing all these nifty 300+ page hardcover extravaganzas that cost a pretty penny, it's hard to buy everything under the sun (as...

    Vanilla Realms and Strawberry Fields

I had this problem once. I flat-out told the player that I ran FR my way and my way alone, and if I wasn't doing something by the novels, then he should just keep his mouth shut. I'm here to create an interesting story, not reenact some stupid book I never read. It even says this in the FRCS...

    LPJDesign

I don't mean to be... mean, or anything about the whole Haven issue, but I was one of the many people who got spam-like emails about it (and still do) 2 years ago. I've looked at the system and given it a shot a couple of times in actual play, and really it's not very good. It also hasn't...

What products do you want to see?

Anachronox d20. Despite being an ill-fated computer game, it's an AMAZING sci-fi setting that would translate very well into d20. The chances of it being made are slim-to-nil, but I can dream. Any takers? If you have no idea what I'm ranting about, go here: http://www.anachronox.com and here...
