You reap what you sow - GSL.

LMAO! we lowered the age to 6, first grade is getting rough! But we did take away the matches because there were just to many charred remains lying around. Gil

    4e D&D GSL Live

As I remember it ADD was all but stuck in the ground when WOTC took over the property. I think you are right about the reversal, I don't know if the OGL can claim a majority of that feat but it certainly helped I think, epecially in the early days. I also think that the GSL is going ot help...

    4e D&D GSL Live

Yah I remember all of that turmoil and the list debates. I learned alot from watching it all. I agree that there would ahve been just as much gnashing. Oh and when I say they should have released the GSL first, I mean it in the sense that they released it with the 3E stuff instead, not...

    4e D&D GSL Live

I think the bottom line is WOTC want's 3pp support but they them to support the game their way and the GSL is designed to do just that. Even during Dancey's tenure he said that 3PP suprised them in the ways they chose to support the game. They thought 3PP would do adventures and those kinds of...

    Tac-Tiles: Gone for good?

As much as I love these I don't think the demand to price is inelastic. :)

    4e D&D GSL Live

I agree too, but to me the GSL seems like a step that is being presented out of order. Like if 8 years ago WOTC had released the GSL and then the OGL the flow would seem unbroken and we'd be cheering WOTC's vision. But the putting the genie back in the bottle is just chopping up the wake and the...

    Tac-Tiles: Gone for good?

what kind of research do you need done? :) With all of us internet gurus around here we might be able to come up with something! My only regret is that I didn't buy the extended set like a couple of other in the group. I'd be willing to buy another compatible set. gil

    Making your own power cards

Even if the cards are 100% original design they still contain content that isn't legal to use without permission to do so and selling them is a bad idea in general unless you have that permission. Gil

    Making your own power cards

they have magic cards and the software of choice for making the power cards is the Magic Set Editor which you can use to make card templates and the such. gil

    Making your own power cards

I love the cards but I must agree. If you did this with completely new powers of your own creation then you could sell them under the GSL. Now is not the time to rock the boat or muddy the waters espcially since the Fansite policy is still in its infancy. Awesome job on the cards though. just...

GSL & SRD -- Comments, Questions, and Hopes

I don't see open game content dead perse but just not defined or supported in the way we were accustomed under the OGL, ie the viral nature of the OGL. The GSL doesn't say you can't have open content. It's clear that the GSL SRD isn't giving us the same amount of information that the OGL SRD did...

Could somebody please explain to me how you sell a PDF without any website at all?

I agree. I think it's a strech to say you can't make a class. Even if your product says something like UberClass's AwesomePower increases at 11th 13th and 20th by 1d6 you're ok because that isn't describing how you level up. create, or apply experience to your character. This is also...

    Making your own power cards

I really like those Archon. I'd be intrested in any of the files you'd like to share. In fact, i'd like to use your card format for some of my own card ideas. Would you be willign to share your working files or post some blank cards for powers and a few blanks in a different colors? Thanks, Gil

    D&D Insider! UP ! (merged)

I'd be willing to try it if it was <= $60 a year. Everything that the DDI offers will likely be available in substitute forms. Gil

    New GSL Announcement

Didn't Kenzer Co. originally have unlicensed AD&D compat products and claim compatibility. I don't think they ever go sued, probably grumped at by TSR but I don't think they got sued. I'm not a lawyer so I'm not willing to place my money going that route. Gil
