WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

We work for horrible people/companies/countries. You don't hire people in my former line of work because you save a kitten from a tree you do so because you got caught throwing it off a cliff into a dumpster fire for laughs. Success and effectiveness is all that matters.

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

I ran a crisis comms shop for almost a decade and he could work for me tomorrow. His work at WOTC was very effective, who do you think got them through the repeated self owns and communication crisis. OGL, AI art, Hadozee disaster etc. Greg did all that.

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

Some Americans don't just enjoy the oppression brought on by the filthy rich they revel in it.

Cosmere Overtakes Avatar Legends To Become Biggest TTRPG Kickstarter Ever!

I feel like dagger heart strayed too far from traditional systems incorporating a lot of meta currency and forced narrative mechanics that makes homebrewing and GM improvising a lot more difficult. Cosmere has a lot less meta currency and makes the "narrative" play tools optional in a way I like...

Cosmere Overtakes Avatar Legends To Become Biggest TTRPG Kickstarter Ever!

I will bet that this game ends up with more players than any of the "big" OGL debacle spawned games (MCDM, Kobolds etc.).

RPG Crowdfunding News – Nimble, Rifts, SLA BORG, and more

The original booklet of hacks for 5e was really good and fans demanded a full rules set. While I am not running any 5e (with no plans to) I really liked the changes Nimble made and the new rules look even better with fully revamped magic and monsters.

    Other D&D Variant Nimble 5e

Enworld as a forum is very DnD centric, the lack of discussion does not suprise me at all.

    Other D&D Variant Nimble 5e

I have the original Nimble, which was a supplement for 5e. It was really good, fans asked for a full game version and that's what is being kick started now. Nimble does a good job of taking the work off of the GM, making martial more intreresting and magic more dynamic. I am into the new KS for...

    Pitch me the current RuneQuest

I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest you ask on the basic roleplaying forums where you will get a lot more folks answering that have actually played Runequest and have often decades of experience with the setting. My own two cents is that RQG is an excellent system that is very tied...

Do any other old school gamers hate the term grognard?

I agree. I miss the 90s gaming (both TTRPGs and Wargaming) were it was about having a good time and not the weird super competitive behavior I see way to often now.

Do any other old school gamers hate the term grognard?

The "modern" usage in TTRPG circles pisses me off. 1) the term has been appropriated from wargaming where it was, at least into the early 2000s, a term of endearment for older players who are set in there ways. It was not an insult. 2) its slung at anyone who either has no interest in new...

    2024 ENNIE Nominations

I usually vote for the (very few) items I own and most importantly have used and liked. But yeah i can't imagine many if any people have enough experience with everything in one category to make an informed decision about how to vote.

Any Supers Game that feels Super?

While I admittedly haven’t played many supers games the one that stands out was run with Risus. Lightweight rules set, use of tropes, simple conflict resolution system that could be potentially added to, to make them more complicated and give you more variety of results.

How compatible should Gamma World be with Dungeons and Dragons?

I hadn't seen that, guess the group think is right every so often!

How compatible should Gamma World be with Dungeons and Dragons?

Starfrontiers was percentile roll and skill based. After zebulons guide was published it used a task resolution system much closer to marvel sups than anything dnd related. Only real DND ism to make it to SF was hit points. I really liked the Gamma World 4th edition, seemed like a good...
