Worlds of Design: The Problem with Space Navies, Part 1

In fact, the range of any spaceborne weapon is effectively "infinite" barring detection ranges and evasive maneuvers. The book "Succession" (aka the two books "The Risen Empire" and "Killing of Worlds") has some interesting ideas for space weaponry. One of the best was a bunch of very small...

12 is also cleanly divisible by 3. For whatever that's worth.

Shiver Pivots To Corporate Horror For Its Next Expansion

Oh, this could be good. I have some ideas for a corporate conspiracy horror campaign based on The Stuff, Halloween III, the 1980s Blob and a few others.

Sword World to Get Official English Translation

I'm just amazed it's taken this long. There was an obvious market for this as far back as the 90s.

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Folklore Americana, Witch’s Herbs 5E, and more

Oh man, a Star Wars with the numbers filed off for Shadowdark seems kinda cool.

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

Ah nice, this guy has quite the collection. And if you really need it, there's "goblin on a toilet" and "Macho Man Randy Dragon!"

RPG Print News – Recently Played and Intriguing RPGs

UVG looks very cool and it tempts me on a regular basis. I missed the Bundle of Holding for it, but Troika looks like it's got that gonzo Jack Vance feel, although I don't know if it's necessarily a Dying Earth sort of thing.

RPG Print News – Recently Played and Intriguing RPGs

I like the Dying Earth/post-apocalyptic science fantasy stuff, so I'm glad there seems to be a lot of it. More than I keep up with, but that's a silly thing to complain about.

D&D General You Don’t Have To Leave Wolfy Behind... In 'Pets & Sidekicks' Your Companions Level Up With You!

This seems like a good idea. The whole point of faithful animal companion is that it should always be there for the hero.

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

Exceptionally delicious. You wouldn't want to feed your pet dungeon denizens anything less. That being said, we definitely have an overpowered party and even in a game of hapless people, I'd want them to be uniquely adapted to meet the challenges.

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

Based on what I have (just now, never heard of this before) read, the creator has threatened forums with legal action and sent in astroturfing teams to squash any criticism of his alt-right views.

RPG Print News – D&D, Troika!, and More

Break and anything Troika look interesting but with only so much time and budget, I probably won't get to them. There's too much good everything these days. EDIT: I'm sorry, it's Break!! and Troika!

I am beginning to think that despite all this great art, I should proceed directly to Dukk Borg.

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – World's Largest Dungeon, Cosmic Dark, Neon City Outlaws, and more

There's just never going to be enough time to watch every movie, read every book, and play every game. It's probably healthy that you are realistic about your expectations, if anything! That said, I like to read RPGs I might never play for the lore or the mechanics, just to see it. As a...

RPG Evolution: If It Kills, We Can Build It

You might not even need a special skill. Just walk behind the previous, ill-fated folks and waltz into the now exposed/triggered/harmless traps and avoid the now obvious spikes and ignore the now triggered dart throwers, taking everything the corpses have on them. I guess that's how trap reset...
