Shadowdark Arcane Library Western Reaches KS

I like the class as long as the GM is onboard with granting it boons/powers from it's patron outside the regular levelling up, otherwise it seems to be a bit underpowered.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I guess I'm trying to understand where an expectation of continuity even came from and why it's still a complaint after all this time... Edit: You're stating above continuity never existed... so why complain about something that has never been the case.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Yes but all of the lore has never been the same across editions... the corebooks provide default lore but its never been either constantly continuous or tied to any continuous setting. Edit: Which is to say what history exactly?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

The funny thing is some of the same people up in arms about changes to the Marilth lore also criticize WotC constantly for not being more creative or taking bigger chances... Make it make sense??

I guess they must really hate 3rd party monster books...

Sigil, Wizards of the Coast's VTT, Officially Launches

This is my use case as well... hoping I can cut back the space my terrain and minis take up and sub Sigil in at times on the big screen.... especially in the case of dungeons or contained/ confined areas the PC's are exploring. Though to keep the pace brisk, as DM I'd probably just move their...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

The whole lore thing outside of an actual setting, which the 5e '24 core books don't have, is hard for me to grasp. I assumed almost everybody homebrewed their monster lore, using what they wanted from the books as is or for inspiration and changing what they don't... Is corebook lore really a...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I didn't ask for a list of who you thought were better than WotC, just from your posts I can tell you prefer other game companies... You spoke to a top dog so I'm asking you to name one when it comes to quality... or are we talking about creativity this time? Because to me it seems you're...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

You made the statement, so you tell me... whose the "top dog" of quality in the ttrpg market?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Wait... what other ttrpg publisher is "top dog" and what, outside of market saturation (and I would argue toolsets to actually facilitate play) are they "top dog" of?

    D&D 5E (2024) Its The Same Game Right? 5.0 Options in 5.5

You have to do this for sourcebooks... why would a revision be different. My question would be... who are these people you have been getting (incorrect??) info about 5e from? Edit: i guess I'd also suggest you stop listening to them.

D&D General What's your second favorite edition of D&D?

2e... mostly for the settings that were attached to that edition.

    D&D 5E (2024) Why are you still playing D&D?

I think i said this in another thread... its damning with faint praise.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Beyond: Any negative experiences?

Haven't had any negative experiences with DDB. I think the extra $10 is well worth it since you get the book but you also get access to the monsters in the encounter builder tool and maps that make it really easy to build out encounters but the monsters are also easily searchable by various...

    D&D 5E (2024) Why are you still playing D&D?

One factor I haven't seen mentioned here so I'll mention it is the ease and use of D&D Beyond. I know, at least on this forum, it's cool to predict the doom of the game around these tools but DnDBeyond is a game changer. My players have a much easier time managing and leveling up their...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Stealth and D&D2024

Ok then I've got to ask... Why can't enemies target someone who has had the invisibility spell cast on them with any effects that rely on sight?

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Stealth and D&D2024

I'll concede to your interpretation as it's actually something I've been mulling about in this discussion, I think as long as you are successfully hiding a Wis(perception) check is necessary to find you... however I don't concede that if character A hides behind a rock, then character B looks...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Stealth and D&D2024

I did but my point remains the same... where is it stated a Wis (perception) check is the only way to be detected?

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Stealth and D&D2024

Where does it say this? Where does it say only an active perception check can allow you to be seen?
