It can be fun to do this. My group bought an Inn. They have more money invested in that then their equipment. NPCs they adventure with when they retire work at the Inn. It has become a focus of the campaign in a way that I was not expecting.

For Solo games in D&D I tend to allow the player to have a more powerful character then normal. If you want to roll stats then roll them but allow her a few extra points to place where she wants. Then depending on what she creates make the campaign that fits the character.

Agents of Shield has been great this season. Agent Carter will be lucky if that good.
