    Module with a good map

I'm leaning to the B4 Lost City to start. That was the first module I ever ran and I ran it a number of times in the 80's but I don't recall using it since then.

    Can't wait for DMG: alternatives

What a lousy post. Even as an advertisement it doesn't work because it doesn't tell me who does the game and where one can get it. As a post for a discussion board it fails because it tells me nothing about the game. I'm going to assume it is another D&D heartbreaker. I'd edit it down and make a...

    Module with a good map

White Plume is my favorite module but not exactly what I am looking for. The C series I'll look into.

    Module with a good map

Desert of Desolation is a good suggestion. I have the individual modules and the combined Realms book.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D meets the Walking Dead

When I've done this kind of game I start out letting and expecting the PCs to destroy a ton of undead. Then I slowly wear them down as they lose resources and slowly realize that these encounters are getting more frequent. When they rest make it difficult unless they plan a defensive place. Show...

    Module with a good map

As my group is finishing up Ravenloft I need to get some ideas for what they want to do next. One thing one of my players has been wanting to do is map out a dungeon or similar place in the old school way. So, what modules have the best maps? I'm not looking for something with too many levels or...

D&D 5E (2014) Next DMG Sneak Preview is Up! Figurine of Wondrous Power!

That folding boat looks almost none magical. The box also looks bigger then I would have thought and cumbersome.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D meets the Walking Dead

Another idea if the PCs get mobile and explore around so they can learn it is a local event have a large army of some near by kingdom killing everything that gets near their border. They can't take the risk of letting anything through for fear the undead will spread to their areas.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D meets the Walking Dead

Borrow from horror movies. Isolate the PCs and make so they don't know if it is local or world wide. In the typical zombie movie humans are as much or more a problem then the zombies. You can do that but D&D has all kinds of things so you can have goblins raiding for supplies or show a group of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Mitigating Critical Hit Devastation

Then the player has to play smarter. This is not a new problem. This is a very old problem that players have dealt with for over thirty years.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mitigating Critical Hit Devastation

There is a lot they can do. The first is to kill the enemy faster. The more attacks the enemy gets the better the chances of getting a critical hit. The second is to improve their defenses. Unless the critical hit took a character from full HP to death then they need to get hit less and heal...

Doctor Who s08e09 Flatlines - SPOILERS

Not wasted at all. It told us that she picked Clara for a reason.

D&D 5E (2014) What previous edition books would you like to see re-done?

The complete book of Elves. All races are not equal and I liked it better when there was a lot more detail as well as mechanical power to them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mitigating Critical Hit Devastation

Is this a problem with the critical rules or is it a problem with the dying rules? If you don't want characters to die then don't let them die. Come up with some kind of other penalty. Go Flatliners on the PCs. Be creative and just use other consequences besides rolling up a new character.

Halloween campaign: What are you doing GM's?

In our campaign we started Expedition to Ravenloft in September and that will conclude with an epic confrontation on Halloween night. That was my plan but now it sounds like some of the players are going to be taking their kids out trick or treating so we might not game that week.

    Flash - please no spoilers

I have enjoyed the show granted it has only been two episodes. Jesse Martin plays a good cop so it's not funny I'd call it more type casting.

    Don't you hate it when...

That would stink. What I like to do is write up information for each character but not have it all be the same information or to even agree. One campaign it took the players two months before they realized that the info I handed each of them was different and that each of them had important...

D&D 5E (2014) Deck of Many Things Preview

I still use the one from the Dragon Magazine so many years ago. I also really like the Green Ronin one.

    D&D 5E (2014) Can you see when you're Blinded?

If one of my players tried to seriously make this argument I might just hit them over the head with the PHB.
