Wow, my friend and I are watching end to end, started a month ago. At the beginning of Season 3. Graphics out dated? Yeah, but tolerable. Everything else still resonates.

After a further review, I dont see any "fire/electricity etc type spells. So should be easy enough for me to make a Firestarter subclass by just altering the subclass spell list.

Surprise! I love Babylon 5. The setting, character development, mythos, all of it.

Also, for those debating if energy spells, like say fireball should be in the psion's kit; Its not included in their spell list in the UA. I fact the more I look at the list, and considering their "subclass" spells, I think they did a decent job of giving it its own identity.

Its important to distinguish between real world and DnD/fiction assumptions. In fiction, psionics being science is a common trope.

I might not explained well while being tongue in check. You asked the difference between science and magic. If there is a difference, in the real world we don't know it. But in the game world/fiction, magic is magic (studied or not) and psionics is science, or perhaps more clearly...psionics...

Real world? Who knows? Maybe nothing? Perception, the difference between base physics and quantum? DnD/RPG world? Easier to answer; Science.* *don't quote Clarke to me, I was there when it was written. /grin

Good list. Lined out the ones that don't "fit" for me.

Same mental wavelengths doing the telekinesis vibrating the molecules of things to set them on fire. Whereas a caster is summoning fire per se...YMMV.

I think the problem may lie (as it often does with me) in the wording of previous versions. We played a LONG time using the wording from 3rd edition and prior. The "react" part of the last line doesn't appear in 5th edition that I can tell.

In addition, 1st Ed psionics was an addition to an existing character (fighter, wizard, etc...).
