D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Hmm, they can only change their prepared spells on level up.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Given the fact that I had accepted spell slots with reflavored spells, and no verbal, somatic components while waiting....it wont rock the boat much to adapt this to my campaign. Did I want more? Yes. Is this acceptable with my campaign's flavor and will we continue to enjoy playing with it? Yes.

    D&D 5E (2024) Illusion Magic in 2024

I might just wonder why there are arrows coming from that boulder.

D&D 5E (2024) How balanced would be this feat?

I was trying to remember that name so I could mention it also.

    D&D 5E (2024) Illusion Magic in 2024

My BBEG, Magic User(Illusionist)/Fighter, was so much fun. An early trick was to have a 10 deep pit in front of him covered with an illusion of the floor. With green slime at the bottom of course. (real pit, real slime) Another time (they knew he could teleport) he appeared on their ship and...

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

Yeah, I never mentioned that ALL my deities have at least two domains. Gives them the depth and concepts that people were talking about up thread. Nature/Wilderness cleric versus Nature/Agriculture cleric mightn not see eye to eye.

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

Spheres were kinda the same concept, building blocks of spell lists. That way you could say "no darkness list for you, light cleric.". But there were too many combos, and it grew cumbersome.

Take the spells or the abilities from two domains. Interesting.

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

Thanks for the reply. What you say seems to be then consensus. And overall I agree, I'm sure you read my explanation of fire upthread, having many meanings. I plan on controlling my impulses after reading everyone' great inputs, especially the concepts versus things inputs. Just needed...

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

Did a lot of kit bashing and research...kinda went with a control of the elements, give or remove resistance type theme. I plan on adding a benefit for specializing in an element and foregoing its opposite, as opposed to a general elementalist, but here's what I have so far...

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

If the DM is a jerk that doesn't discuss things with their players, then yes. Otherwise, its possible the player was looking for that dynamic of walking the line, or bringing reform to the faith, or spitting in the god's eye. I think its a player/dm issue, not a "bad" all around mechanic.

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

I'm actually leaning towards making an Elemental Domain instead of Air, Earth, Fire, Water, as mentioned up thread.

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

I understand what you're saying, and its a great theme. But we have a campaign where a god is the god of Fire as a concept. So it can work. Of course, their domain powers and spells would likely be different from core, primordial elemental type powers, I agree.

D&D 5E (2014) Wonder why there aren't any Elemental Domains (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)?

Lots of thoughts after reading all the good inputs from ya'll folks. I agree that a "small" number of domains and theming could cover most deity concepts. But I feel that some of that list should have the basic "fundamentals"* included to kit bash most deities. That said, I would rather not...
