D&D 5E (2014) Revised the UA Theurgist (Thoughts?)

It hasnt come up yet, but since part of the original UA said other wizards cannot copy spells you learned this way, I favor the interpretation that only Magi could use such scrolls.

D&D 5E (2014) Revised the UA Theurgist (Thoughts?)

Basically, I changed the UA version by removing the ability to use the Domain's 17th level capstone off the end of the wizards subclass, and added Domain's 1st level benefits at 2nd level. Then spaced out the other abilities into the slots a normal wizard subclass would have filled...

D&D 5E (2024) What upcoming WotC D&D product are you excited about?

I want the FR Player's Guide for the mechanics, I've cribbed a lot of that stuff since the 3E FR Campaign Setting and would like an update.

D&D 5E (2014) What If Everyone Could Use Scrolls? (House rule)

I think the idea is, there will be more scrolls because of usability and demand increases: A. Only wizard can cast Fireball from scroll, they make extra so they don't run out. But its still just one Fireball per round. B. Everybody in the party can cast Fireball from scroll, wizard makes...

    D&D 5E (2024) I attack the darkness!

House Rule: If two combatants are fighting in darkness, or fog, and neither have special senses, they attack each other with disadvantage. (i.e. its a harder fight than normal lighting) Rationale: Being unseen by your opponent while you can see them is the theory for attacks having advantage...

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

I did not say 2e was a failure. Im saying after time and poor decisions it became one. I.e. not an edition issue,

D&D 5E (2014) I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

IMO, releasing 2E was a successful decision, it was the splat overload, too many settings lines, etc, that was the bad decision. I.e. overloading the demand for product to the extent that "average" players had to choose what to buy out of the multitudes of choices.

    D&D 5E (2014) Should 3PP upgrade their books to 2024 versions?

No for redoing older books to 2024. Yes for new books coming out for 2024.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 - Do magic weapons bypass resistance now?

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 - Do magic weapons bypass resistance now?

I had a "semi gothic" campaign where the devils were like rakshasa, immune to spell levels X and below. And magic weapons were rarer than standard. A certain amount of telegraphing was needed "The cultists seem to have acquired a book of summoning lower level devils" It was fun for an...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 - Do magic weapons bypass resistance now?

Addendum: You could still have creatures that had resistance/immunity to "magical" weapons, I just wouldnt put that and "silver" on the same creature.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 - Do magic weapons bypass resistance now?

I have thought that perhaps the +1, +2 of "magic" weapons is merely magically enhanced accuracy and damage (a valuable attribute to be sure), but that it does not affect resistances to type or material.* I.e. A weapon would still need silver to affect jackalweres, even if it was a +1. *the...
