Exactly. To be fair, its probably because we all live in such wide and varied spaces, styles in more than just games are going to be varied. But we only see whats around us.

My apologies, I wasn't clear. It wasn't the age demographics that I disagreed with, it was the "The young audience wants a narrative heroic fantasy game. The older audience wants a simulationist greedy grounded game." I see plenty of both groups liking both or either styles of play.

And some even played a narrative heroic game, with a side of simulationist I'll grant.

I do not. 5e is the best thing (simple and elegant) to come around since 2e. It is easy to mod, yet incorporates modern design principles and concepts. /puts on flameproof suit /signed "older fan"

I understand your point, but I would like to re-iterate my "anecdote". People play BG3. They know I run/teach D&D to anybody that asks. (I wore colorful fantasy shirts in public and when I worked at B&N.) They ask me to teach them to play. Now they play D&D.

Sorry for necro reply. In my campaign, humans have more and varied pantheons overall because their "racial" god was either killed or never existed. Sometimes, cultures with a racial pantheon* look down upon or pity the poor abandoned humans. *except elves, they kinda have a "reach perfection...
