I would like to add that it seems that people are conflating two different concerns into NPCs should be built like PCs, and its causing a lot of "debate" a. Should you build NPCs "like" PCs? and b. Should you build NPCs that resemble PCs? IMO; Building NPCs like PCs is too cumbersome...

We never said there wasnt unique people or abilities. But dont most if not all npc examples of magi I think we are debating extremes. Of course the game gives you guidelines or its a failure of a game. And having better rules for monsters would be nice. But they will never cover all...

How about instead of wildly making up numbers, you look at existing creatures of an appropriate challenge and compare? We've (the community) been making up monsters from day 1.

We always wanted a 5 star win. My evil friend would research nukes and vuild just one, threatening to use it if we didnt agree to his politics. Cause if even one nuke goes off, the best you can have is a 4 star win.
