Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

A second thought after posting... instead of a new dnd edition...you could roll to one of the other systems and help make it popular. win/win

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Understood, but that presupposes that "edition" or "mechanics" is a driving factor of game enjoyment (which is valid). For us (us meaning groups over the years) the adventures and scenarios is our main factor. I mean, gee whiz, we make decisions in the Talisman board game based on RP. You...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

Probably should be a separate thread, but from the perspective of playing from the early 80s to now, and watching social interactions... I think DnD may have helped/saved a lot of people.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I like DnD and other games. Enjoy my opinion that 2014 DnD is both an elegant and simple system that is a mixture of both old school game play and new innovations in the rpg industry and continue to run games for my friends? :D

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

I use both. Whispering fiends and devils are rumored to have been the beginning of the downfall of the Wenharian Empire. And random demons, loths, devils, and etc, associating with mortals for various reasons. I also still use cambions.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I hear you. But consider. What if as you say, baseline arcane doesnt harm the world, and defiling does, giving more power. Kinda telling statement that they ruined their world anyway.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I don't think any revisions will be as bad as some folks are dreading.

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

"sold out" only has popular as a side effect. If (in your opinion) the band changed their music to get more popular and make more money, then they sold out. If they didn't change their style, and still got popular, then they did not sell out. But if their style changed as they grew as a band...

"The What's Old Is New TTRPG System Expands With Hardcover Bestiary" I was like "that's not grandma friendly" and then my eyes focused better. ...sorry...

D&D General The Great Railroad Thread

I feel that if the "players will attach motivations" then we still have linearish adventure, but if the DM forces motivation or specific encounters/actions, then its a railroad.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

I would like to know where the game setting states this. Because I have gone through the original box set and cant find it anywhere. In all seriousness, I would like to read it and understand your view.

D&D General WotC: 'Of Course We're Going To Do' Baldur's Gate 4

Because the choice and responsibility to kill/wage war should remain with the human combatants that have stake in the conflict? Not some impersonable entity that is sheltered from the ramifications of its action? Oh... Nevermind.
