Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Borderlands - First Impressions

I ran it with experienced players and it was fun. It is a full D&D experience. I do think that experienced players won't get as much out of it. For example if I wasn't going to run this for new players I would not have picked i up. Knowing what I know about it I'm glad I have it besides that use...

Uh. Honestly I don't think that game is going to the same demographic. I could be wrong.

    D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

Seriously though what haven’t they rebooted that was popular. Or at least held people’s attention. I’d also look towards classic video games. H*ck even a full on Baldur’s Gate thing, even now, might be smart.

Does the ddb come with pregen ddb characters? Ones in the ddb character sheet not just the cards?

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

I’m one who grudgingly admits the cards are a good idea. And they had to ship with the core book or they’d just be ignored. I do think there are downsides but so far the positives have been better.

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

I saw that later in the thread. I’ve burnt out of so many arms race games that I just try to nip it in the bud.

D&D 5E (2024) Using Action Surge to cast spells in 2024

I very much dislike this kind of thing. I’ll grant it is a neat rules hack. I do think it leads to a ratcheting down of rules trying to cover “loopholes” I’d rule it out.

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

It’s been a real blast. One thing I didn’t notice but now realize was profound was 1st level characters had that low level feel to them but without the brittleness of 5e 1st level characters. Running test runs of the Borderlands Box brings that back to me and even Teos says as a DM to watch out...

It’s increasingly odd to me that the only beyond reference is the QR code. Also Roman’s had wooden ball bearings . I’ll have to find a reference but metal ones may have been around before Leonardo. Maybe? https://www.bdsbearing.com/blog/bearing-history?hs_amp=true
