Yea, I saw that when it came out on Netflix. I absolutely loved the final scene where his OWN experiment proved the curve of the earth, and you could see the discordant thought process playing out on his face. And I'll note that he has since stated that he still thinks the earth is flat.

One magic system I liked was from the Encyclopaedia Arcane: Dragon Magic where using the actual language shaped the spells. I likened it to listening to people that didn't understand words and how to use them and then listening to a master orator like MLK, Ghandi, or JFK.
