Purple Dragon Knight Retooled as Banneret in D&D's Heroes of Faerun Book

Yeah the Drakewarden is a great class and very well done, its needs more love :) I'm happy they've gone back to Banneret, even if the old version was a bit weak, it was a good support fighter - of course they should just go all in and call it Warlord/Marshal. I think the Purple Dragon Knight...

    Musings on Sci Fi Campaigns/Adventures

Blake-7 was very popular in the Anglosphere, even if it only got limited runs in the US and elsewhere. So given the ENWorlds demographic I guess its at least well remembered by a few of us

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

TEAM LAKE - SUBJECT: SHADE-9 With the Cultist contained and surrounded inside the transporter, Shade-9 scanned the structure itself, paying particular attention to the red crystal. There position had been compromised and there was no way of knowing how many mercenaries might follow. Was there...

D&D General Whom keeps the torches lit?

Your dungeons arent all infested with bioluminescent slimes? What do the Gelatinous cubes feed on when there are no adventurers around?

As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

Yeah thats another DnD trope which is a bit diabolical really. Devils are all about temptation and offering irrestible bargains that cost your immortal soul but the stats and art make them all battle beast ready to rend your flesh.

Worlds of Design: Who Gets the Crown?

There were at least 12 Female Pharoahs of Egypt and 5 female Emperors in China, they make for some extraordinary characters. My current campaign takes place during the War of Spanish Succession 1701 - 1714 after Charles II of Spain died without issue and the Dutch-British-Austrian Alliance...

As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

According to the He-Man Writer Larry DiTillio Granamyr was lifted from a Tunnels and Trolls module that DiTillio wrote - The Isle of Darksmoke. Darksmoke is also the name of Granamyr's tower in the Ice Mountains of Eternia. DiTillio said that he used Granamyr because he wanted to have an...

As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

I tend to base these creatures on Gang culture stereotypes Orcs - Standard Thugs, Violent Biker Gangs. The Elder Orcs are a bit more jaded and struggling to keep the young thugs in line. Goblins - Weasley scavengers, who steal anything not nailed down and then run and hide (these are the...

As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

Yeah I would love if every monster in the MM was given a motivation line as an indicator of what it wants and thus what its likely behaviour will be. Even something as simple as Illithid: Predatory Intelligence seeking Domination. Still broad enough to generalise but giving some guidance Of...

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

TEAM LAKE - SUBJECT:SHADE-9 - Beast Boys : In Your Face! "I will help you" Shade-9 fixed his gaze directly upon Guldred, noting the Lizardfolks agitation "Mission Objectives have been updated, but all parameters must be considered." Aywin had suggested direct pre-emptive use of the teleporters...

    Musings on Sci Fi Campaigns/Adventures

I did a game where the PCs were law enforcement on the outer fringe planets and moons 'the Wild frontier'. It was far enough from civilized space that the PCs had their own autonomy and responded to missions as they chose including fighting pirates and raiders, doing rescue and recovery, escort...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

although there were a couple of 'gaps' I liked the length and quick pace of the movie, I think that got in the needed highlights and relationship nods to tell the story (especially for Sue and Ben) without getting distracted - and suffering the MCUs faults. Johnny was perhaps a bit...

    Spoilers Fantastic Four (Spoilers)

Just saw it and enjoyed it. Would have been fun to spend more time exploring Earth 828 and Subterranea. Kirby was great and I liked that they showed her as actually powerful (and ready to call out Reed). I also liked that they showed Ben and even Johnny as intelligent in their own right. so...
