I have my own system which essentially treats Domains/Factions as a Character with Attributes - Diplomacy (Cha), Military (Str), Economy (Con), Society (Wis), Academy (Int) and Mobility (Dex) used for Skills and Saves and then uses Aspect Tags to define Traits, Features and Assets.
Domains also...
Lasers however take a whole lot more power than a barrage of missiles and the power needed for super long range lasers has to be generated somewhere and the waste heat dealt with too.
Big ships might be the only option simply because of the amount of space that needs to be dedicated to powering...
Aria is less game and more world building exercise, you start by creating a map, determining topography, seasonal cycles and weather patterns and major geological features. Then you create Heritage Groups (Species, Nations, Cultures) and then start 'play' where you are essentially playing as a...
SO Book of Vile Darkness Warhammer style? Heh, Warhammer is fantastic but in a game where even the 'good' side is splattered in blood and gore I'm not sure how keen I'd be on playing a Champion of Chaos.
Fate dice are simple and so aren't a problem, but yeah other funky dice are just annoying. Hell I find d12s and even d8s to be annoying and yet they're considered 'standard'.
and as an addition - what do you think of systems that use Playing Cards instead of dice?
I really enjoyed Alchemy of Souls, I've quite been enjoying the Historic Dramas too, theres a whole host of Joseon era movies which are fantastic - War of the Arrows, The Admiral and Shadows in the Palace (which has some supernatural elements)
so what will future lizardpeople be wearing? Maybe floral shirts are making a comeback like bellbottoms or bobby sox, and we dont know that the multiple 'cellphones' being used aren't some kind of holographic projector or drone interface
the first display of dinosaur bones goes back to ancient times however - they just didnt know they were dinosaurs. For instance the Shoulder Blade of Pelops (a demigod) was once displayed in the Temple of Artemis in Greece until it disappeared in AD150. The Shoulder Blade of Pelops is believed...
The cost of going to another planet to make war probably means that complete obliteration of the planet is a terrible idea. You'd really want to send in ground troops and secure resources first - hence the need for ground troops.
One thing that you learn if you ever study fairytales or folklore is that all Oral stories are contemporary to the time of their telling - RPGs are also an oral storytelling space visualised via 'fantasy exotica' but where the actual content is contemporary to what the participants know.
So all...
These are depictions of Njinga Mbande the Warrior 'Queen' of Ndongo and Matamba who fought the Portuguese in the 17th century and is remembered as "Mother of Angola".
Anyway I picked her specifically because the Gullah-Gechee people mentioned above by @Levistus's_Leviathan have been traced...
Theres a difference I think between pre-modern (ie before the 18th Century rather than actual Medieval) costume which DnD was based in and the current trend of 'anything goes' right up to contemporary (yet strangely 1980s leaning) styles. It probably started with the whole Steampunk aesthetic...
Heh, yeah quite possibly - especially in those stories about the Last Dragon.
But on Earth Enantiornithes were very successful thriving species when they existed, supposedly dominating the northern hemisphere. Unfortunately the same asteroid that killed the dinosaurs also caused the...
That 200 years of fertility is a major assumption though.
On Earth we know a woman can stop being fertile (go through menopause) and live another good 50 or more years. So who is to say that elf's aren't even more restricted? A Dwarf who becomes an adult at 20 yrs might go through menopause at...
