and the Emu's won. but Cassowary are the far more terrifying bird in Australia - the Ozzies never even tried to mess with them, they're firm evidence that birds are theropod dinosaurs

Trailer One Piece Netflix Season #2

Yeah, Netflix does seem to have a Boardroom problem when it comes to approving stuff to go ahead That said they're already working on season 3 of One Piece - so hopefully that will come quicker

    Real Life Monsters

The Riptide Horror appearing in Tomb of Horrors was developed here on EN World and largely inspired by Giant Tubeworms, but they could serve to represent giant Hydrazoans too And talking of Cnidarians in a Sci-Fi campaign I had a Cnidarian species that was essentially an asteroid sized psychic...

D&D General Dragonborn In Your Game (A Poll)

My equivalent is a Guivren who are gracile reptilians standing around 7 ft tall (but 9 ft long nose to tail tip), they are facultative bipeds with digitigrade stance and a patagium extending from their extended fifth finger to hip. They are considered to be medium size and descend from an...

    Worlds of Design: Only Human

That made me think of the Birthright settings use of Source Holdings which take the form of ancient henges, primeval forests, faerie trods and other wild and unexplored a places, but which become weaker as nature is removed in favour of development. Humans civilisation tends to deplete Sources...

Creating some form of address courtesy titles for lowest nobility, and question about addressing strangers of unknown rank

does it have to be english? You could use Don and Doña? I've used Buc (Male) and Cailin (Female) derived from Irish Herr and Frau (German) Effendi and Hanim (Ottoman)

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

the dragon has elbows and very flexible wrist joints, I'm also assuming the wing socket allows it to rotate - if the dragon was in a upright bipedal posture (like when flying maybe) it would just be a normal 'extra' set of arms with claws rotated so they orientate inwards.

that makes sense, I have been wondering how her mother is going to fit into the narrative and linking the principal and the cult leader is a good connect

Codenames: That wizarding school edition firestorm and resolution

I thought i was being careful with it. But the point stands that Rowling is still making money off the licence even if CGE is penalized for producing their product. Targeting a small niche product does nothing to change things. I have no interest in CGE or Potter and outside this thread it wont...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

I always assume that in these illustrations the artist has captured the wing in motion, sure this particular position shows a weird angle, but I'm going to assume that in flight the shoulder articulation is such that the Topaz rotates its wing so that they are beneath its body rather than above...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

Enantiornithes are extinct bird-like avialans distinctive for having 'backward wings', so maybe the Topaz dragon followed that similar 'opposite' wing articulation, not quite what the image depicts, but not impossible given that dragons are significantly larger than the enantiornithes fossil we know

Codenames: That wizarding school edition firestorm and resolution

Which you'd think would be all the more reason that those authentically fighting for trans rights would target the Lego product to raise awareness. Its not like Lego is some small obscure brand - a campaign focussed there would be far more impactful than CGE making a donation

D&D General Does anyone recall coming across any magic weapons that return when thrown...other than Dwarven Thrower, Hammer of Thunderbolts or magic boomerangs?

Returning magic Chakram Witch’s Circle – 5th Edition SRD This Article from Nerdist and Matt Mercer mentions the Krull Glaive as a Dancing Weapon:

    Worlds of Design: Only Human

I developed a slightly biological largely tongue in cheek approach and came up with the notion that Dwarfs are adapted to Alpine environments, it is there at altitude that they thrive. It is only because of their high endurance that they are able to venture to lowland habitats, however when...

    Playing AS monsters?

Yeah these days having an actual human in the party is becoming a novelty and even the poor dwarf is seeing less play than the more exotic types. At least elf still has drow as an option. But since warforged, tieflings and dragonborn, reborn, genasi and gnolls have been brought in is hard to...

    Spoilers Wednesday S2

Yeah, thats what doesnt make much sense to me - the school is made up of vampires, werewolves, male medusa, sirens, witches and other monsters, so what are they eating or doing in the night? Are these sparkly vampires rather than bloodsucking monsters? At least during season 1 Weems had them...
