    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

Not sure if this was in regard to something I've said, but them being cagey is the furthest thing from my mind. If anything, and that's a solid "if," there might be a couple things going on. Possibly temporary production constraints, cash flow problems/challenges, and least likely would be...

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

I'll sort of take that. I wasn't aware they'd done additional print runs, but doesn't sound like anyone here knows how big the runs have been either. I still think it's a bit curious why they haven't been able to keep up with the presumed demand. You think I'm biased against them, and I think...

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

You did cherrypick because I think you know what I meant based on earlier posts in this thread.

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

You're cherrypicking. I've repeatedly said 6-8 weeks in this thread.

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

I said 6-8 weeks. How many weeks are there between Sep 17 and Nov 12?

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

Agreed across the board. It is a little curious why they haven't been able to keep the physical product in stock. I have a tough time believing it's only production constraints. Seems like they could have completed another run in this time, so I suspect there's a little something else to it...

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

Thank you! A constructive, respectful comment after an initial difference of opinion was revealed?? Wasn't sure I'd live to see the day.

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

Not should. Is. Because it's what I am. I kinda-sorta care, see some kinda interesting things in DH, maybe has some potential for me, some things I don't like too, but I'm not deeply, intensely curious about it yet. Wait and see mostly.

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

Understood. And here's what I said: "Really depends on how solid the design is (vs. a work in progress that requires iterations) and the capabilities and relationship with the manufacturer. For Hasbro, I'd guess 6-8 weeks from finished design and layout before it could be in stores." 6-8...

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

The math isn't adding up. They released each of the three 2024 core rulebooks within six weeks of each other despite acknowledging still working on each at the time. The initial assertion I questioned in the thread was 12-18 months to bring a new product to market, which seems at the far end of...

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

Fair enough. I enjoy watching their games for entertainment value more than educational. I like watching CR games, just not using them to set my expectations for a game in real life. I'm more inclined to observe actual play at a local game store for that, where the vibe is...different.

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

I appreciate the first half of your comment, but saying that's "...not how you come across in the last 7 pages" is off base. I never said I hated Daggerheart. I said I'm mildly curious about it, which remains. I'm mildly curious in learning more about it, but I'm not curious enough to actively...

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

I guess no one else is going to point out how many weeks passed between the release of each of the core 2024 rulebooks....

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

OK, I stand corrected. Found a credible source. They were staggered, at least in part, due to print run capacity. https://www.polygon.com/23730209/dnd-dungeons-dragons-books-printer-release-schedule-2024/

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

I would love to find that source. I've found some anecdotal, unofficial claims of that, but nothing confirmed. I read where they publicly framed a stagger as normal and that it was done to let the team focus on and finish each title, pointing out that the 2014 core books were also released one...

Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Heroes on the Borderlands Review

At the extremes, sure, but it depends on what and how much we're talking about. If we're talking about 20 million copies of an embossed full-color 400-page hardbound during the Spring Festival that's different than 100,000 copies during the low season.

    Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

My takeaway from this is that I'm the only person on this thread who thinks Hasbro could possibly deliver a new product to market in 6-8 weeks under any circumstances, since that was my original claim. Got it. Never mind the release interval between each of the 2024 core rulebooks, which were...

It doesn't matter how much clout someone has.... I'll remember you said that the next time the topic of Hasbro of comes up.

This came up before. Just want to make sure, but was it confirmed by Hasbro that they staggered the release due to production print run capacity, not marketing?
