My guess? DH is a fad on its way to niche status within 2 years. Core niche of ppl will continue to love it, but it'll fall out of mainstream favor. It relies too heavily on players to drive the story, too much effort to invest for most players, and too prone to chaos. My unsolicited two cents.

I've actually never played one of these games, never played this kind of dice pool system. I've played games that add d6s, like Shadow of the Demon Lord, but they add to the roll total, instead of only looking for 6s or 1s. Not sure I get the pros for a dice pool system. It seems...strange...

I agree at the extremes, but I do think it can be a very fun, effective tool that doesn't cause fits at the table if it's employed sparingly and judiciously. Like I said, I've done it many times. But if one of my players is going through a divorce, has a special needs child, just lost their job...

I don't see a better way to interpret it in a game intended to be played by regular people. I mean, if we can't figure ourselves out, why should we be expected to perfectly roleplay alignment in someone else? Do we, the players and GMs, think of ourselves in restrictive alignment terms...
