I sometimes use the report button for a post at the end of a thread if I feel that there is a general issue I'd like to draw the mods' attention to. In the report, I clearly state that the report is not with the actual post, and then explain the issue. But this is just my way of doing things...

The trick is to take an aspect of a game you play, and then start at thread about it ... but frame it as something you'd like to do with 5e. That'll get the discussions started and you can enjoy lots of different viewpoints. E.g. I love Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. So I could start a thread...

Yeah I can understand that. Myself I just had my first fan expansion for the game published in a Swedish RPG magazine. No waiting for finished rules for me! :D

I can't but to stop and ponder the possibility that there were other, way cheaper and less destructive ways for WotC to find this out. Like, I don't know, just keeping their ears to the ground among the community for the last 20 years or so ...

Oh my god, no a thousand times no! The OGL is not the heart of the gaming community. The heart is the gamers and the games they play, not a freaking license from WotC. The community existed way before the OGL and will exist way after the OGL!

I don't understand you. You are saying that the words "we won’t be able to release the new OGL today" means "we have released the new OGL today"? I can't keep up with this kind of 4d chess so I'll just bow out of this particular line of discussion.

Can I read the official released Anti-OGL somewhere that is not in a press release saying "we won’t be able to release the new OGL today"?

As far as I remember there was a legal battle due to the inclusion of Knights of the Dinner Table on the Dragon Magazine CD, which at least as a partial result landed an official D&D license at KenzerCo.

Add to that the fact that is has been displaced in some different markets than the US. Drakar och Demoner in Sweden. Das Schwarze Auge in Germany. First mover advantage is a big reason for any RPG to be the dominant in a country. Or rather, first mover when it comes to distribution. :)

Well … it’s not like gamers stop spending money after they turn 40 … so I think Conan as a license has some legs to it still. :)

I am not impressed by CBS:s contributions to the article. A successful crowdfunding campaign? Did I miss it? The one I know of netted 11% of its goal.

I respect the fact that Dave Arneson reached for the stars with this letter. The stars might have been out of reach, but at least he put himself forward for consideration.

Darrington is Critical Role's publishing company, so I guess that it's their Tal'dorei stuff that's selling strong. Goodman does 5e stuff, most notably the mammoth books in the Original Adventures Reincarnated series. I think it's weird that ICv2 group them together like that.

A short aside. The first edition of Drakar och Demoner was released in 1982. Since then three publishers have had the game in their stable of games (Target Games, Riotminds and now Free League). In Sweden we have an eternal lively discussion about how many different versions there are, and...
