It will not use levels, looking more to the late 80s and early 90s rules versions of the game and updating from there. And you are correct, Ruin Master was also a spin-off of Drakar och Demoner. Riotminds sold the trademark to Free League about a year or so ago, and I think Riot later sold Ruin...

It will be an update to the old engine, using D20 instead of D100 and fixing some problematic rules. So hopefully it will feel lika a contemporary take on a skill based system. So I think this will feel very different from modern Runequest (which I know very little about to be honest).

They're only winning in their own minds. I think you should take a break, drop nuTSR and their antics from your mind, for your own well-being. At this point I believe ignoring them is the best way forward.

This whole mess made me wonder, is there somewhere there is a description for freelancers in the RPG industry to read about what they should expect sort of generally when being employed? I'm not thinking of pay rates or such, just basics about what treatment are you to expect as a mimimun, what...

Yeah, when I do writing gigs I make about one third of my normal salary. If I'm lucky and crank out the stuff quickly. I hardly think that people chosing to write as freelancers for RPGs could by any stretch be called "greedy". :D

As a longtime admin for another RPG forum (in Swedish) I have also noticed that some people are simply offended by rules and moderation on a very personal level. Something about having someone else tell you how to behave boils their minds and they start pushing the limits just to break the rules...

I did some thinking about that and deleted all cookies for EN World. After clearing cache and logging in again it now works as intended! Silly me not thinking about that, thanks for the pointer!
