D&D General On gatekeeping and the 'live-streaming edition wars'

Well that's one way of putting it. Not technically a correct way, of course. :) EDIT: Ah, you ninja edited it before my slow old finger clicked on post!

D&D General On gatekeeping and the 'live-streaming edition wars'

Well technically I guess not. But then again I don't play with people who don't play the game so I don't really care what they call themselves. Are you a D&D player if you never played the game? Nah. But then we could ask if you are a D&D player if your last session playing D&D was a year ago...

    Lay-offs at Fantasy Flight Games?

That thing I find most interesting is that not even FFG having at least one rpg line in the top 5 of the ICv2 ranking for 28 straight quarters saved the rpg group. I'd give someone's right arm to know the numbers behind those rankings. /M

    Pathfinder 2E Rate Pathfinder 2E

I do tend to agree, but would like to note that the stated rationale stated from Paizo for creating Pathfinder was that they couldn't tell the stories they wanted with the DnD 4e framework (such as it was for 3rd part publishers). So for them at least, rules inform story. Cheers! /M

Lone Wolf (Hero Lab) Lays Off Staff

I second and third and whatnot that Realm Works had potential. I used it to run a year and a half long WFRP campaign, but in the end the complexity and issues I had with the speed and interface made me switch my campaign management to Scrivener.

Is Pathfinder meant to be "boutique D&D?"

That shouldn't be too difficult. :p (on a more serious note: I expect PF2 to overtake Starfinder as number 2 in the ICv2 charts, and that Starfinder drops a few positions, let's say to number 5). /M

DnD Sports Changes Name To RPG Sports

I am interested in knowing what they ARE thinking. Everything seems so half-baked, it seems like they haven't put even ten minutes of thought into this. I'm surprised DnDBeyond are involved. They seem to be on top of things, and this is all but that. /M

In mobile mode, I have notification I shouldn't have

Hi! When in mobile mode on the starting page, I have 5 notifications. Three are from mods discussing two post reports I've made. When I click those I get "you don't have access". The other notifications are old as sin. Or at least a year old. They don't show up in desktop mode. /M

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4E Launches At UK Games Expo In June!

Anyway ... I am excited about this relase. So far they've done many things right, what with the PDF releases of old stuff, and the probable rollback of the timeline and stuff. Also the covers look great! I also think Cubicle 7 has done some solid work on other lines and they seem to have their...
