WotC to Release 1st Edition Premium Core Rulebooks Reprints

There's been management change, yes. Slaviscek out, and Mearls promoted, I believe. /M

WotC to Release 1st Edition Premium Core Rulebooks Reprints

Probably not since WotC says that the covers are revised and special. A cool thing, WotC are hitting many of the right notes lately (very lately so to speak). I'm more excited about D&D Next, but this is a good and smart move. Maybe some adventures collected in a slipcase as well? Tomb of...

Pathfinder 1E This is why pathfinder has been successful.

I remember a thread where someone from Paizo, I think it was James Jacobs, basically confirmed that they write adventures partly from that assupmtion: they should read well, since many just read them and don't run them. Now, many do run them, I'm running Kingmaker now, but there are a lot of...

Pathfinder 1E This is why pathfinder has been successful.

In my case, the idea is based on actual experience working with Drakar och Demoner, the dominant RPG in Sweden during the 80's and 90's (over 100 000 copies of the core rules were sold). Supplemental rulebooks sold 5 times the amount of what the adventures did. In comparison many of the...

So what races and classes do we consider core?

Classes: Fighter Magic-User Cleric Thief Elf Dwarf Halfling To me that's core, because that's what my first D&D looked like. :D But if I think more in AD&D terms ... Races: Human Elf Dwarf Half-Elf Halfling if you must Classes: Fighter Thief Cleric Magic-User Bare bones. Not that I mind...

Ryan dancey hints that DnD will become a board game....

Thanks! Recent, but before the announcement. But it's hard to imagine Dancey didn't know about it though. :D /M

Ryan dancey hints that DnD will become a board game....

Is this quote in relation to the latest development, or something from way earlier? I seem to remember him saying this, but that was maybe a year or so ago. /M

WIR S1 Tomb of Horrors [SPOILERS!! SPOILERS EVERYWHERE!!]‏

Trial and terror It's trial and error that will take me as a player through the Tomb. The problem for me is the meta aspect of that. To apply the experience from one run where my PC was killed, I have to rely on knowledge that I as a player has gathered, but which really shouldn't be available...

Advice wanted: taking over a Kingmaker campaign

Great idea, I'll try to do a little bit like I do for my WFR campaign. Hadn't thought that much about the importance of NPCs but now that it is mentioned, it seems like a natural focus for me. Thanks. /M

Advice wanted: taking over a Kingmaker campaign

Thank you for your advice. I will get going on the NPC thing from the next session. I want to make sure that the PCs build up relationships with the NPCs that are helping them run the lands, and I am thinking of having some of that happen between sessions, via mail or something like that. I'll...

Advice wanted: taking over a Kingmaker campaign

I have Fields of Blood (Eden), War (AEG) and Cry Havoc (Malhavoc). I'm tempted to test Fields of Blood. Ah, yes. Very good advice! I've been feeling a bit non-attached to the NPC's so far as a player, so I need to put some more work into that. Thanks! /M

Advice wanted: taking over a Kingmaker campaign

Hello! Pathfinder + Kingmaker + Maggan as DM = True. I am taking over the DM chair after our resident DM is doing a doctorate in another city, gearing up to running Kingmaker. I have played as a player up until half the second adventure, and am now trying to wrap my head around the whole thing...

A trial EN World news/reviews/articles iPhone app [now also ANDROID!]

Just installed it on my iPhone 4S. Haven't given it a thorough drive-through yet, but the first thing I noticed is that the graphics aren't optimised for the retina display, which makes them look a tad fuzzy to me. Will return with more feedback after I give it a few tries. /M

    OotS 811

I really liked the pacing in this one. It felt fast, it moved things along and didn't drag it out three pages. Here's hoping for a pick-up in pacing! /M

    OotS 810 up now

Link below: Giant In the Playground Games I think I need to backtrack to get this one. Was the lizard cleric part of the Linear Guild at one time? Cheers! /M

WIR S1 Tomb of Horrors [SPOILERS!! SPOILERS EVERYWHERE!!]‏

I always assumed that the PCs were but the next victims following the failures of countless others. But that might be just what I assumed. /M

    Legens&Lore: Monte Cook takes over

I've been thinking a bit more about this, but haven't really come to any conclusion regarding the involvement of Monte. I definitely think this is a move towards a change in tone and texture of the current D&D game from WotC, but wether that will take the guise of D&D5 or a continual revision of...

    Legens&Lore: Monte Cook takes over

That is interesting. There have been people working at or for WotC going to work at or for Paizo, but I haven't seen they other way around until now. /M
