I like the warhammer scheme of actually spending your XP points to upgrade your abilities. That is pretty cool. I wonder if that could work for DND...

You can keep your PHB and use that with the new books. There are additions, updates and clarifications, but the new classes will work with your PHB and should be self contained. If, like me, you want a nice portable - up to current - errated rule book then get the Rules Compendium.

A hitpoint at level 2 is not the same as a hitpoint in level 7 in 4e. So if you are going to be using monsters outside of the 4-5+ PC level range they need their hp upped and their damage increased IMO. I'd also lower their defences by some scaled amount. Ahh I missed the Ravenloft announcement - ohh so many shiny new things... I like that they are mixing up the product releases. It beats the annual core updates and power books.

Lots of nice amendments there, but I can see some issues integrating them into running games and using the previous source books. Some feats are now effectively obsolete and the level requirements are now gone. Is the big feat list going to be updated. Although I applaud the new organisation...

I use the treasure parcel system - without withlists - and Asmors Quartermarter treasure generator. I do generate "player" times the magic items - so x4 for my group. It means a lot more magical treasure is given out, but my players seem to love it, and they get some very odd items sometimes.

I checked my rewards and nothting yet. I did update my info there last month. So maybe I'll wait a little longer and my batch will come.

If Greyhawk was to re-released for the current edition it would need a hook - other than it's pedigree. It could be a set of rules that bring back some of the old skool flavour: hex-crawling, random encounters, a set of mini-less (quick) combat rules and some of the older modules re-released...

I'd love if the do reprint in the future that they stick revised on the front and include the errata.... But, still, I suppose "/thread" is appropriate...

I am now waiting for the DDI article that gives us the Pirate theme... Themes do sound good - real good - but maybe they should have expanded backgrounds more, there seems to be a some overlap there.
