D&D Movie/TV DADHAT becomes Netflix Global Hit

It's a shame it didn't do better. It really is a good movie - it's not a masterpiece, but as good as one could ever hope a D&D movie to be. It was even more fun on the rewatch :)

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

I'm asuming that "this doesn't seem abusive either" you mean the double sneak attack with true strike scrolls? If that's the case, haste would not allow you to sneak attack twice. However, action surge does allow you to ready, so that could be used to get a second sneak attack on another...

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

I don't agree with this ruling. The "lowest level required" refers to the slot level of the spell. A fireball scroll is a 3rd level spell. Not the level of the caster. (an aside: in older editions, spell damage was very frequently based on the level of the caster - a 7th level wizard's...

D&D 5E (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

It's 15 gp to make one, and the rules to do so are in the PHB. It's possible the GM will say no, but the basic rules allow it. If you want to rule it this way sure, but I think the change in writing is convincing IMO. The old wording stated that the spell ended when you ran out of these temp...

D&D 5E (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

Hello I'm well aware that true strike doesn't give advantage in 2024. That's not the combo. The idea is not to use true strike to give you advantage to "trigger" a sneak attack. You have to make that happen some other way (... there are so many ways). The combo is the thief's ability to...

D&D 5E (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

a few more I've seen: The thief with a 1 level wizard dip, using fast hand to cast true strike and attack as a bonus action, then holding their action to attack as a reaction, granting easy double sneak attack/round. Agathys Forever: I invented that one, although it is very possible that...

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

The PHB doesn't tell us what action is required to read a scroll, so because we don't know if it's a magic action, we don't know if it's legal. I hope the DMG will clear it up. It's solid, but it's hardly "abuse". 90% of the build has little to do with true strike. True strike does nothing...

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

Really? A two level dip for and extra 3-5 dpr? That doesn't seem really abusive to me... what am I missing?

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

and now instead of being a once/short rest frequency, it's a once per 15 gp... yeah, definitely an "upgrade"

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

Yup, which is why I'm hoping the DMG will clear this up by explaining what action is needed to read a scroll.

    D&D 5E (2024) Abusing True Strike 2024

So there are a number of decent/fun combos with truestrike, but the only "abuse" one I've seen so far is this: Be a thief with a 1 level wizard dip. Know true strike. On your round, use your fast hand ability to use a magic item as a bonus action. Have that magic item be a scroll of true...

D&D General Shadow vs belt of giant strength

I agree with this ruling. If your strength is zero, there is nothing for the belt to "enhance" thus the magic fails (and you die).

    D&D 5E (2024) Agathys forever

The language you've used undermines your argument. "have these hit points" That's 5.0 language. 5.5 AoA does not use those words. It merely says "The spell ends early if you have no Temporary Hit Points.". Not these temp hp. If you were arguing about 5.0 you would be correct. (edit: typo)

D&D 5E (2024) Temp HP - a hidden nerf to druids and others

The hidden nerf isn't that now they get a bit temp hp instead of buckets of "beast hp". Everyone can see that! The hidden nerf is that this means they cannot benefit from temp hp from other sources (world tree barbarian, cleric with inspiring leader feat, etc)

D&D 5E (2024) Temp HP - a hidden nerf to druids and others

I think this is a huge buff to AA (I made a thread about it! :) ) but it's a nerf to polymorph. Old polymorph, you could stack temp hp on top of their "beast hp". And the beast hp could be healed! The polymorph temp hp can be replenished yes, but it's a lot more awkward. Say the giant ape-ed...
