I personally prefer the LUGtrek version as well. I have the LotR, and while a good system, it makes me love the LUGtrek version all the more. I think the LUG system fits better than the CODA system. I could, however, be off as all I have to go by for CODA is LotR. Heck, I think I even prefer...

I actually prefer modern over CoC and to a certain extent, d&d. I plan on runing my next fantasy campaign with d20M. To each his own, I always say!

Any Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, especially the song "Red Right Hand" If you are not familiar with them, they are a kinda strange mix of lounge and goth. Weird, but very cool and I think appropriate for what you are looking for.

Yeah Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) Rocks! I can't, however, yea or nay, FFE since I have yet to buy a product. My local store doesn't carry them and I rarely ever buy an rpg product site unseen, unless its on sale ;)

Deeds Not Words is a 300+ page pdf for $10 that does an excellent job in staying in traditional d20 rules (classes, etc..), while fitting extremely well with the supers genre. I never thought d20 and classes could pull off a supers games (I'm a die hard Gurps/Champions or Fuzion Supers fan) but...
