Looking for Some Friendly Advice for Learning to Balance/GM Savage Worlds

Here are a couple links that you might find fun! Savage Heroes This is a great SW site. There's a TON of conversions of differing levels of quality, there's DM screens, reference sheets, all sorts of good stuff. Great White Games/Pinnacle Entertainment Group :: Index The root of the...

    P90x

I've recently dropped about 50 pounds and now that I feel I have better dietary habits I'd like to work on strength and overall body fitness. I've seen P90x, and even saw this thread earlier before it dropped off, but I'm worried that my current level of fitness (which is low I think) won't...

Looking for Some Friendly Advice for Learning to Balance/GM Savage Worlds

I've GM'd SW a couple times. Here are some of the things I would have done in retrospect: - Read the whole book. I tended to skip around to the parts of the Explorer's edition that currently interested me or what I currently needed, but when I read through the book as a whole I saw the rules...

Going to GenCon Indy for the first time

I hadn't heard they weren't going to be available this year. I'd second Rel's suggestion that attendees that don't have an ENWorld name tag maybe try to make one. It makes it much easier to spot ENWorlders. I think I've still got mine from both 06 and 08. They'll both be there on my lanyard.

    Your RPG achievements

    - GenCon at Parkside. Met Gary Gygax, Phil Foglio, the Hildebrandts, Rowena, and Elmore. A room just for computer games (I bought Telengard there)! The con was SO much smaller then! I remember the dealer floor being in a gymnasium (or something about that size)! - My Dad and I at Parkside...

Hobby games and the lack of time.

Our group is actually more focused now that we're playing using FantasyGrounds. We still get the funny comments but I think everyone is used to sitting down and concentrating on what's happening on the computer, so there's a lot less off topic chatter. Our group is now scattered all over the...

    Space 1889

Sure, alt away! Also, if I pick up the book I'll come and find you at your thursday morning game and pass the book along and maybe watch for a little to get an idea of the setting. Let me know about the book. I can PM you my cell number if needed at the Con.

    Space 1889

Yep, barring weirdness I'll be there Wednesday night. Let me know when you're playing, other than Crothian's Dresden game I'm pretty free. Oh, and if you need someone to pick up the book for you just let me know. I'm sure we'll be there right around the opening of the floor. It would be no...

RPG books that inspired your D&D campaigns

Nick Polotta's Bureau 13 books for me. I'm sure they're based on the RPG to begin with, but it wasn't an RPG I had heard of until I read the books. I still wind up reading them at least one a year. They're the Savage Worlds in book form: Fast, Fun and Furious.

    Space 1889

Hmmm. I don't know that I'm looking for something where the characters travel around to different planets, I'm more looking for Victorian technology. Blimps, not spaceships. Maybe I'll look into Runepunk. Since I'm going to GenCon I should be able to check out Space 1889 there more closely.

Anyone else not get their Gencon badge?

I set mine to "will call" but I have a friend that had his mailed out and he just mentioned this morning that he hasn't gotten them. Not sure what he's going to do.

    Space 1889

I'm finding myself leaning toward doing a Steampunk Savage Worlds game and I've seen some mention of Space 1889 from Pinnacle. However looking at their site it doesn't seem like that product's page has been updated for a while. What is the status of the SW version of Space 1889? Was (is) it...

No worries, I'm flexible. I've heard very good things about the RPG; I'm glad that's what you're doing. :)

    Thursday 2-6pm Dresden Files

I'd be interested in playing. I've read all the books so I'm familiar with the setting but I'm not familiar with the system. Is this the official Dresden rules? I'll have to think about the character i'd like to play. Maybe a librarian. Or a butler. I always seem to do well playing a...

Is there a SW:EE character generator?

Good thinking! I checked over there and didn't find anything too fancy, but I did find a link to an Excel sheet which I've been playing with and have found to be pretty darn good. Not perfect, but good. Here's the link! http://savage-x.wikispaces.com/file/detail/SWPC.RDR.xls Thanks!

Is there a SW:EE character generator?

I know, it's easy to make characters in SWEE. But I'm curious none-the-less about whether there's a character generator for Savage Worlds somewhere. My searching has revealed nothing, and that surprises me. Thanks!

Quest for the "perfect" all-in-one game

Just yesterday I glanced at my Chill box and thought "I wish there was a Chill ruleset for Fantasy Grounds". I thought I was the only one that remembered Chill! Right now I think Savage Worlds is my one stop shop book. I feel like I could run pretty much anything out of the EE. It leaves...

Which virtual tabletop do you use?

Fantasy Grounds 2 is what our group is using. No connection issues so far and combined with Teamspeak it's worked very well. We like that it has a good number of rulesystems available as we all tend to have favorite systems to run. I've been using the Savage Worlds ruleset and it's very good...
