I've always liked Sine Nomine's "Spears of the Dawn" as an African based RPG. It doesn't try to be actual Africa, it's D&D inspired by Africa.

That might have been the best episode of the campaign thus far. Khary fit in well right from the beginning and seemed to energize everyone else. I'd love to see he and his character again, a lot. Easily one of my favorite guests.

Totally agree, these two Bestiaries are the best monster manuals I've read in a very long time. They're so evocative, they really inspire you to play. I loved the first one, and I think the second one might even be a little bit better.

Seems odd to call out Force Gray and Aquisitiions Inc. when Critical Role streamed live shows twice, including in front of 1000+ people at Gen Con. And AI may have had eight episodes, but CR has almost 80 now, and they live stream on Twitch almost every week (most weeks for ~28000 viewers)...

I know, I just couldn't remember if the company that made FG at that time was SmiteWorks (I was thinking maybe it was different before the buyout). Looking at my 2006 Fantasy Grounds paper CD sleeves, it looks like it was, I should have taken the thirty seconds to check. :)

Not sure about SmiteWorks, but I bought Fantasy Grounds at GenCon in '06 (still have the CD they burned for me in the booth :)) so for sure FG has been around over a decade. It's been a heck of bargain, and more and more so the longer I have it.
