    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Touche, the mere thought of actually wasting feats on Arcane Preparation and Cooperative Metamagic brought on a knee-jerk reaction, although the plot-hook/screw-me-over-DM class feature always bugs me. Since it seems the two of you still don't get it, allow me to make it as clear as possible...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

No, I'm reading them. They are, with very few exceptions, wrong and indicative of a lack of understanding of the rules. Oh, false analogy. I was expecting to run into something this blatantly wrong and fallacious by page five. Then you're wrong. Then you've obviously not read a single one of my...

Because only one person has actually pointed out a mistake?

How to kills a dragon... Help with a Warforged Juggernaut build?

I still hold by my theory that it's actually Asmodeus trying to get a foothold in reality. Only way to explain how something so vile could exist. Despite it being a very clear part of the rules and 3.5's greatest strength in the game? Oh, god, that's even worse than core-only. People actually...

They're divine casters. It's not hard at all to get the Rune Domain. Getting that lets one Bind a Nightmare.

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Nope. 9th level spells. Then you're wrong, but okay. Then it's unfortunate, but as they're written they are absolutely compatible. I don't know what you're tryinh yo say. It has a basis in that's what the rules say. Uh, no. It's a spellcaster feat because pretty much any spellcaster can take it...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

I'm not sure what you're asking. Versatile Spellcaster makes your highest level = whatever it was +1. Elven Wizard and Domain Wizard then work their magic and jump up too, repeating the cycle up to 9s.

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Because you are capable of casting spells of that level. I've been over this. But, as I've said, if that's not good enough for some reason, just insert Heighten into the build. An extra flaw hardly matters much. Problematic class for many reasons, including a rather expensive feat cost. That...

D&D 3.x Does Glitterdust (3.5) shed light? Does it require ambient light to work?

No. Even in complete darkness, its effects still do precisely what they say they do: Blind, outline, and give a massive-assed penalty to Hide. Those effects are completely independent of any illumination.

    Eh, Astral Projection says hi.

D&D 3.x Does Glitterdust (3.5) shed light? Does it require ambient light to work?

No. It covers stuff with sparkly dust which blinds them. Nothing there has anything to do with light.

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Heh. Thank you. It's not my favorite trick I've discovered, but it's up there. Without Knowstones it becomes more tedious. Runestaves, from the MiC, are pretty nifty, if inconvenient to carry around in bunches. That aside, Complete Divine's Arcane Disciple and the various Bloodline feats(About...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Dude, despite how stupid casters are(Even when not completely ludicrous abominations of RAW like this), 3.5 gave us Tome of Battle, Magic of Incarnum, and Tome of Magic! Why would you ever turn your back on such wonderful books like them? Theoretical optimization Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Wrong. They are entirely separate. The two abilities have literally nothing to do with each other beyond one being a prereq. The VS effectively gives the wizard spontaneous casting, as the specific trumps the general.
  15. C

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Incorrect. Alacritous Cogitation has literally nothing to do with the build other than qualifying for VS. It is not used at all. Versatile Spellcaster is an entirely independent ability.

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

You're missing how easy it is to boost caster level. Especially with the duration, there's no reason not to go balls-out at least once every so often. You can abuse taint and its super-Heighten with Extra Slot. All the other shennanigans I've got off the top of my head require Turn Undead or...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Versatile Spellcaster gives the wizard the ability to cast the spells, therefore Domain Wizard gives it to them known. If this isn't good enough(Even though it's exactly what the rules say), then you could easily go down the road of Heighten, or if you're just flat-out making up rules to...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Wrong. Yep. Personally, I like a Haversack, but it doesn't matter too much. Actually you can. Nothing is restricting it, nor are there any effects for doing so. Wrong. It's fiat because there's nothing in the text that can possibly be interpreted that way. Wrong. Two, because Heighten is...
  19. C

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

No. That would be rulings. Interpretations should only care about text, because that's all there is to interpret. Nope. You're asserting that metamagicked spells are different. You'd best back it up.

Optimized Build Request Thread - ENWorld Version

Curses! You win this time, Gadget! The online support gives them a little boost in power, but my biggest problem is that whenever I read the rules or tried to come up with something, I just thought to myself "I could be making a Truenamer that does all of this but better." My first thought would...
