    Tumble too powerful?

No, one must read the text. Because that's where the rules are. So? Versatile Spellcaster lets you do just that. Really? Show me where it says one does not know a spell one is casting with metamagics. I'd like to see that. Oh, you're adorable. It's like you didn't even read the thread but are...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

...We are talking about a build that has 9s, you know. Last I checked, Contingency doesn't take up an Epic slot. And unless "complicated or convoluted" was precisely defined, it's meaningless. Sure. You always leave slots open, and I don't leave home without at least one Rope Trick prepared...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

I've never dealt with anything like that, so it kinda comes of as ludicrous. It's an Elven Wizard with the Domain Wizard variant, Alacritous Cognition, and Versatile Spellcaster. It can bounce the bonus slots all the way to 9s. To borrow a saying from Exalted, Join Battle trumps Join Debate, and...

Optimized Build Request Thread - ENWorld Version

Sorry, but I don't do Shadowcasters. I hate them on a mechanical level, so I've never bothered to actually memorize their ruleset. That's really the one system I don't do. Hell, I even like Truenamers, but not Shadowcasters. If you need it, I'll find some time to reread the rules and figure...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

The Tumble thread got sidetracked into why wizards automatically win. The opposition, those under the rather bizarre impression that full casters are not vastly more powerful than everything else in the game, kept moving goalposts to the point, and, once they started asking for a list of what a...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

...No, it really isn't. No, I did support it. I said what was needed. I answered the question. Plus, we appear to have different definitions of "math," given how when I think of math, I think of, you know, actual mathematics occurring. But, really, if you want to make that argument, do you show...

Initiative is dirt-cheap in 3.5, especially at high levels.

    [September] What's got you listening?

I've been on a bit of a Sonata Arctica binge right now, but Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Queen, and the Metal Gods make up my most played playlist. Also, special mention goes to the Kagerou Project, although I'm not sure if it quite counts.

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Uh... Thanks, I think? I beg to differ. It's knowledge of the system. Advanced knowledge of the system allows one to build exactly what they want at exactly what level they want. It also lends itself to funny little flaws in the system like the above. The same awareness of the system that leads...

    Calm Animals on Magical Beasts?

Diplomacy could work, should the Magical Beast have an intelligence of 3 or higher and you're willing to take the penalty to use it quickly(Assuming the Magical Beast is pissed at you this instant). Wild Empathy works on intelligence 1 and 2 Magical Beasts, at a penalty. Calm Emotion would work...

How to kills a dragon... Help with a Warforged Juggernaut build?

I don't see why multiple classes would be a problem, but okay. In D&D, there is no such thing as a tank. That's... massively more powerful than any other LA+1 race outside of Dragon Magazines. Dandwiki is a toxic site. I, nor most people I've talked to on the subject, ever even click links to...

    Tumble too powerful?

Which is unnecessary due to multiple feats. If you really need it, Heighten Spell. You're welcome. Actually, that limit was never clearly defined, and several classes laugh at it repeatedly. In other words, unless you can quote the rules compendium clarifying that, you've got nothing there. Do I...

    Calling out, "systems mastery"

Except for, you know, the fact that I repeatedly have. Except none of it works. and Wrong. But, hey, nice try. Then it's a good thing casting it at the start of combat is for chumps. Are you done posting meaningless drivel yet? I'm curious as to actually see when your so-called proof comes up...

    Tumble too powerful?

Sure, except it's not an interpretation, because it's completely unsupported by anything resembling rules. This is completely nonsensical to the point where I can't figure out what you're trying to say. Versatile Spellcaster and Alacritatious Cognition are entirely separate abilities, completely...

How to kills a dragon... Help with a Warforged Juggernaut build?

I think if your DM is allowing books for one player and banning them for others, you've got bigger problems than someone not thinking to flip through the books.

    Tumble too powerful?

Actually, you wrong. By a strict reading, the Domain Wizard simply CANNOT specialize. It has nothing to do with removing the feature, that's what Elven Wizard does. They are inherently compatible.

    Why are undead inherently evil?

Actually yes. What's good and evil is objective. It's empirically testable, even. First off, where exactly does it say the gods defined it? I don't remember that and Deities and Demigods seems to contradict that, if memory serves. No, they're what they are because that's what they are. Which are...

What Do You Want To Talk About? (EnWorld edition)

The Stealers are living embodiments of evil and deserve to be complete crap. Good. You should be. Stealers suck. :p

Of the WotC Forums and the OTT

Actually, the biggest problem is that a 3.5 ranger would go first and has Rhino's Rush. Therefore, the 4e Ranger would be chunky salsa before it gets to move. But, yeah, it doesn't really matter. 3.5 is a better game and therefore wins by default :p
  20. C

    Why are undead inherently evil?

Yes. Good and Evil are completely objective. Using something from a series without completely objective morality to support your case for one with objective morality won't work. Sure. They're just irrelevant to D&D. That "reasoning" is terrible for two reasons. One, it is, in fact, inherently...
