RPG Evolution - The AI DM: Monster Maker Mischief

A few things to keep in mind: Gpt is bad at math. It’s making guesses. It has no real idea that 2+2=4. It just pulls it up like every other fact out there on the internet, and people are bad at math. Some days, it can’t even count. it uses fuzzy logic in a lot of situations. its not pulling...

RPG Evolution: That Time an AI Played RPGs

Actually, I have an interesting tidbit or you: I took the AI at one point, in order to brainstorm a new setting from the ground up. I advised it to create three personas and name them. We would then have a brainstorming session to develop said setting. It ran without me. Those three...

RPG Evolution - The AI GM: Your Somewhat Unreliable Familiar

As a game developer, with a background in game AI: Game AI is manufactured according to the game. In most cases (not all), we do NOT make the AI 'smarter' deliberately. To be blunt, it is pretty darn easy to make an AI utterly trounce a player with nothing more than reaction time. Add in...

RPG Evolution - The AI GM: Your Somewhat Unreliable Familiar

Well, the road has a few dozen dangers. Which are you focused on, and in what way? Context matters, and we don’t know yours.

RPG Evolution - The AI GM: Your Somewhat Unreliable Familiar

A huge amount of the vr dev training bible could just be titled: DON‘T MAKE YOUR USER PROJECTILE VOMIT. VR IS NOT FOR EXPERIMENTING WITH TURNING EACH EYE DISPLAY IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. DO NOT GET CREATIVE. STOP. IT.

RPG Evolution - The AI GM: Your Somewhat Unreliable Familiar

Actually, VR never had a chance to get a real market share, or become mainstream: too many people are utterly unable to use it. VR sickness is a thing, and it does affect a significant percent of the population. Crypto and nfts are both large scale scams making use of a legitimate technology...

D&D Movie/TV The D&D Movie Reviews Are Coming In

Well, reviews are subjective, and mostly crap. Antman was not a bad movie, nor was it very memorable. Most of the best parts are momentary, and did not get the attention they needed. My spouse and I both agree most of the plot. Was gone from our minds the next morning. On the other hand…...

D&D General If You Wanted a LIfe-Sized Mimic Chest, Now's Your Chance

Okay, two things. 1. You just went personal with anyone you argued against. 2. You dismissed others opinions because you disagree. I made my reasons clear as to why I thought what I did. You just dismissed them with, “Aw, don’t pay attention to them! They just like to complain!” you can see...

D&D General If You Wanted a LIfe-Sized Mimic Chest, Now's Your Chance

Okay, let me be clear: it’s made to look like the sides are made of planks, the metal trim is supposed to be heavy gauge, and the rivets are made to make it look like a large armored chest. Then we look at the ring handles…. It’s not life sized, it’s a large mini. And at 20 inches, the cost...

D&D General If You Wanted a LIfe-Sized Mimic Chest, Now's Your Chance

Wait, 20 inches? Life sized? Nope, that’s just a flat out falsehood. I can 3d print something that size.

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

Impossible to say what is actually going on inside, but i‘ve seen the plausible deniability train used so much that the tracks are in ruins.

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

I’m sure Kyle is absolutely sincere and is doing the best he can. I’m also sure he not privy to the meetings the top management are having about this, and what they plan to do long term. I”m not dismissing his efforts, just the goodwill of top brass.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Beyond Reveals New Golden Vault Details

If the horse was dead, it would stop drawing such things. Obviously, we need a bigger club, and to use it more liberally.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Beyond Reveals New Golden Vault Details

Stares at the art for the article. Sooo. Nothing about the armor the girl is wearing being 90% of why artists need to have a course on how armor actually works? I mean, really... She would actually be better of in bikini armor. Wouldn't act like a corset.

OGL v1.2 Survey Feedback: 'Hasn't Hit The Mark'

Well. I agree in principal. pity they screwed up so bad with obviously poor behavior as to make us feel they can’t be trusted in good faith. Even this new choice makes me wonder: do they understand what happened, and do this because they learned, or was it a sudden spasm from hasbro layoffs...

OGL v1.2 Survey Feedback: 'Hasn't Hit The Mark'

The ability to walk away from the table is the only part of a negotiation you fully control. It is a perfectly acceptable negotiating tactic. In fact, it’s the only thing that prevents the other side from dictating terms in sum. I feel that you do less negotiation, and far more appeasement.

OGL v1.2 Survey Feedback: 'Hasn't Hit The Mark'

Okay, I will acknowldge your original statement and its intent: "The only public draft that was released." I believe the conflict on my part was due to the terms of this sentence. Once the NDA was broken, and 1.1 was released, it was public. Regardless of intent of Wizards. I was also...
