Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

As someone who kinda stopped listening to music for pleasure (after playing in basement and garage bands, and getting into recording, and ... and ...) because I trust neither my hearing nor my emotional responses ... I feel vaguely as though I agree with both Zeno and Achilles, here.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Hey, I've never once snarked on pineapple on pizza. Olives, sure--though I'd hope my referring to them as "non-food objects" was clearly a joke--but not pineapple.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Presuming a thing is awesome because it is popular (which the post you're responding to did not do) is the same fallacy as presuming it's terrible because it's popular, yes. On the other hand, if a lot of people are really enjoying it, maybe it's not as bad as all that, eh?

Look, if the interviewers are going to gay-panic like that I probably don't wanna work there, anyway.

I can think of several media it can apply to, and TRPGs aren't in the top three.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Closest I can think of is the sending out of the seventy-two--but the instructions for if they are not welcomed in a place are not "shrug and walk away."

    Sinners (2025)

Ah. IIRC the shootout was before the end credits (which I'm calling anything after that an epilogue). We're just using "epilogue" differently is all. No worries--I don't disagree as far as structure goes.

ToV Other than "It's not made by WotC", what's the elevator pitch for Tales of the Valiant?

I would absolutely pick and choose the spells from Deep Magic I'd place in any game I was running. I have a whitelist and Deep Magic isn't (mostly) on it.

    Sinners (2025)

Wasn't that the first one (the one set in the late 1980s/early 1990s)?

ToV Other than "It's not made by WotC", what's the elevator pitch for Tales of the Valiant?

I've bounced off of A5e every time I've tried to read any of it, so take my feelings on ToV with as much salt as you feel relevant--but I did find the ToV Game Master's Guide vastly superior to either of WotC's variants, especially the Revised.

I think the obviousness of the choice is going to be related to how badly you think you screwed up your life, and how much of that you think you could avoid.

Man, you keep saying that as though you're the only expert on that, and not only am I convinced you're not the only expert on that here, I do not believe you are an expert on that.

ToV Other than "It's not made by WotC", what's the elevator pitch for Tales of the Valiant?

I have A5e, and haven't been able to muster more than distant respect for it. ToV, as it happens, separates lineage and heritage pretty completely, best I can see. I'll stick with the game I've chosen to run, thanks.

ToV Other than "It's not made by WotC", what's the elevator pitch for Tales of the Valiant?

I think it's a better revision of the 5e game than what WotC did--I especially think the way they handled moving things out of being "because you were born an elf" and such is better than in 5e 2024--and the Game Master's Guide is worlds better, especially if you're at all experienced running...

It's also possible to have real preferences and still be open to other things. I'm playing in at least one TRPG game I wouldn't normally, but they were a player short and I was at least curious--helps that the "they" here are friendly acquaintances, none of us are total strangers.

My cat, we need to actually open the Churu, but you are correct that at that point we basically have control of the cat.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I was going to ask what about gumbo would be a problem for someone with celiac, then I saw @CleverNickName put up their approach and saw the roux. I am not always smart, but I can sometimes understand what I read. (I guess some sausages might be a problem, but that seems much easier to work...
