    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

I apologize for my reaction. Now, on to the rest of your post. It makes a lot more sense if you consider the idea that the artisans are likely massively more rare for the era in question than they are for the modern era. It also makes sense if you consider that the cost of living is massively...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

Page 143: It's still 1sp per day. I know what the hireling page says, but that is not a specific mention and more of a general for players hiring unskilled people, which given the professions mentioned seems to be more of an average. That said, the rest of your post makes sense and explains...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

Please pick up the Player's Handbook and turn to page 143, then read the section titled Coinage. Laborers do not earn 1 gold a day.

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

No one today can manage a modest living using a pure barter economy, and yet according to the Player's Handbook they manage it for the typical DnD world. It creates a problem that a simple banquet costs $1,000 per person under that economy. I can think of no banquet I have ever been to that...

    5th ed. Forgotten realms campaign

I am interested as well, as I've been wanting to actually play the game. I can email you as well, if you wish. Is this game online? I hope so. I kinda have some limits as to how far I'm willing to travel :P

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

I personally think it would help because it would give Secondhander an answer and give us an actual translation rate. Plus, it would save me a lot of math and comparison because I could then just pull up a reference copy. It may not be entirely accurate, but I don't think accuracy matters that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

It's not in 5E, from what I have seen. Neither in basic rules nor in the books themselves. I've been keeping an eye out for that just in case. Might be stated somewhere on the official website? If so, we need that quote. And, I've taken a look at those and nodded. It does depend a lot on which...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

Real world prices from which era? Because those are real-world prices that actually did exist in America at one point. That's part of what I meant when I discussed the changes in technology affecting pricing; even with real-world currency, they have completely changed how much we value clothes...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

One of the 4E manuals? Or one before 3E? Never seen it in 3E or 3.5E, and definitely not finding it in 5E.

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

The closest to that is the candle, and even then you're going to have a difficult time tracking down the same kind of candle being used in both technology sets for a price comparison. I'm basing my pricing on local store prices, where I can get ten candles for about a buck. But, I doubt those...

    D&D 5E (2014) Copper piece value in U.S. dollars?

I would say a single copper piece is probably valued at about 10 cents, based upon the rarity of goods it buys for the era. That puts a silver piece at about a dollar. You can't really rely upon hotel stays and such for value, as modern currencies put more weight on service industries than DnD...

D&D 5E (2014) ideas for an attack on an airship / making the next adventure fun

Winged housecats that have decided to use the airship as a mobile scratching post and don't appreciate taking No for an answer. Weird weather conditions are also very good encounters. Look up razor hail. Or, maybe, make it even weirder, like raining frogs. Even more fun? A mage experimenting...

Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter for New Expansion

The new kickstarter is here, and it is for taking that game further. For those who have not played it, I would recommend picking it up. The starter campaign is a bit weak, but the Dragonfall expansion is massively better and the Director's Cut of that expansion shows that this company is really...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

If they based it on the original version, the mechanics may simply be too different for a wizard subclass. Then again, that's a big if; they might now. Really, it's the only full class I can imagine as a possibility. I think the system they currently have will cover anything else they come up...

Artificer is the only one I can imagine for a new class.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

My guess is that the original intention to make it specific to Elemental Evils has been slightly dropped in favor of a general book that is intended to be used with Elemental Evils but works well with any Faerun campaign.

    WotBS Pathfinder: WotBS Campaign Guide

Leading armies into battle and the bit about ruling the world. Ruling the world is not part of standard Kingmaker, but some groups are insane enough to try it. The other I have already said too much on. Edit: And, after reading this, I want it. Very good!

    WotBS Pathfinder: WotBS Campaign Guide

I'm still reading it, but I am noticing some elements are similar to Kingmaker in sound. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; it gives you some idea of the way you can advertise it. Edit: Removed something caused by misreading. Edit 2: I'm wondering if you are not front-loading the campaign too...

    EN World's New Year Resolutions

I have to agree with Henry; you've done a massive amount of work and should be very proud. If anything, this is probably one of the most pleasant gaming websites I've been on, and I'm still discovering the depth and breadth of what you have added. ENWorld is definitely one of the best gaming...
