It would be easy enough to adjudicate weights. It also allows you to play up attunement. Maybe a magic item requiring attunment that is not attuned to you weighs more than its nonmagical counterpart, while one that is attuned weighs less or even nothing.

It depends a lot on the BBEG. I've had more than a few learn a group's strengths and weaknesses by outright asking them before the group figures out their new travelling companion is the one who's behind everything.

I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised by how this edition is shaping up. Personally, I think the DMG is the weakest book, but that it fully deserved that score. They've done a good job.

Depends on the game. If it's Shadowrun, the police shootout just adds to the ambiance.

To add to the list... You simulate falling damage by making players jump off the roof of your home. They might land on my car, and then I'd have to sue you! You simulate the characters going to jail by framing the players for felonies. Though, this is an excellent way to be rid of a problem...

The issue is the hilt style is pretty generic for a few Japanese swords. Would need to see the blade, or at least the scabbard, to know what type it is.

Acrobatics is very useful if you have a Bayonetta-style "fighting on debris while falling from orbit" encounter. Which, strangely, used to come up in games I was in fairly frequently. Rings of resist fire and magic items that eliminated the need to breathe were very popular...
