Pathfinder 1E Orcs and their available arsenal

Can I just point out the battle rage the barbarian class is known for is something the real-life Celts were actually known for? And that the Celts typically went into battle anywhere from lightly armored to naked?

D&D 4E Is there a "Cliffs Notes" summary of the entire 4E experience?

You could have opened by saying it was just how you felt at the time. Unfortunately, the nature of the internet means tone doesn't translate as well as it does in other forms of print media, so it's incredibly easy to miscommunicate or be misunderstood. That essential element is what is fueling...

    D&D 5E (2014) /Ragequit Rants

I spent the last few years building up an immunity to 5E. /robertsquit

D&D 4E Is there a "Cliffs Notes" summary of the entire 4E experience?

The disconnect I spoke of is not only personal, but a disconnect between your reasoning and some of what has been stated on this thread. And, yes, there is a personal disconnect involved; I'll illustrate the personal disconnect first. You yourself describe the game as having "videogamey...

D&D 4E Is there a "Cliffs Notes" summary of the entire 4E experience?

I do not mean to be overly harsh with this. I think that's part of an inherent disconnect: While it is true you don't care what the market has to say, WotC does. And they are the ones who produce the core game and choose how licensing is handled. Unfortunately, this means that how much support...

    D&D 5E (2014) Pet peeve (eladrin thread)

Are you honor? In all seriousness, it's probably just a common typo, like that make-up focused class everyone confuses for the rogue.

I apologize. I should not have made that comment. I will not treat this place in that way.

    D&D 5E (2014) Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

I think this one could be folded into Knowledge or Peasant.

    D&D 5E (2014) Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

Yes, I mean Persuasion. Going to need to adapt to the new terms... The issue I find is, I just don't see any justification for the distinction. Many of the same things that can be used on animals are often applied to humans, just in different forms. But, that is just my preferences and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

I'm asking why they're skills because I could see merging Handle Animal with Diplomacy and Perform has its own problems. The Perform skill creates an inherent self-contradiction; the skill itself reflects training and experience, yet the die roll it modifies reflects more what you would see from...

    D&D 5E (2014) Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

Acrobatics - A I like to try to make use of this skill in combat situations. It really should provide an AC bonus for lightly-armored characters. Animal Handling - F Why is this a skill? Arcana - A This skill should be amazingly useful. Especially given how much I like to toss weird effects...

    I Am Puzzled

Most people don't have either the time or the will to convert between 3.5 and Pathfinder. Converting to an entirely different system is, for them, completely unreasonable.

Wasn't meant to be baiting, but I can see how it was. That was definitely a mistake for me.

What if the goal is not to convince the person I'm arguing with, but those outside the argument who might read it?

    D&D 5E (2014) Rolling a 20 always hits

Within Numenera, a crit can be a couple numbers below 20, and extra damage applied a couple numbers below that. But, a crit isn't always damage; sometimes, you get to attack again, or you knock your opponent back or down, or you stun them, or... You get the idea.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rolling a 20 always hits

I think the always-crit rule combined with some people only being able to be hit on a 20 was intended to replicate movies where the hero only gets one hit, but the hit is lethal. Then again, they could have just borrowed the idea from Numenera and similar games without borrowing the full set of...

    D&D 5E (2014) PH(B) Soldier Background (Art is new)

They're basing it off humans in medieval times. And, sadly, for humans in medieval times... that's pretty much true. And even in the modern era, humans don't actually vary that much.

The Power of "NO". Banned Races and Classes?

Try building it with a Commoner. I did that by accident one day with a goofy character intended to die quickly.
