I am, I just got a second job so I've been busy as Hell recently. We're going into the slow season here in a week or so so you all can expect some new stuff in the near future. I'm surprised you're interested in the way Shinkokku is ran and all of that. I nerd out hard on my own storyline and...

G Grendels mother was actually more like a beast and was weaker than Grendel. She was smarter than she let on but a lot less intelligent than Grendel himself. I'd actually use a Brachyurus as a baseline, and go from there, maybe add barbarian levels.

I agree with Brawler, that class is awesome. I'd say 20 Brawler, 20 ranger (or Manhunter) 5 levels Archblade if you allow that class, and 5 levels Legendary Dreadnought. Non Deific but mythic and with plenty of epic feats. Maybe a couple esoteric. Level wise, I'd put him at 50+ his feats are...

Nah he only had the one fight unarmed and that was simply because he knew Grendel couldn't be hurt by weapons. Otherwise he wore armor and wielded a sword and shield. Though, that said I wouldn't say he was a Paladin

I think that's fair, to be fair however, most by the Epic Handbook monsters were pretty unoptimized. They were either way too strong for their level or just one trick ponies with a single main tactic and if you get passed that they're fuxked. Or both. So I think either way, whatever you want to...

Nice, also, maybe I'm blind again, what CR is it?

I think this works, I don't know if he was immune to fire and energy attacks though. But either way I like it. Only thing, and this is nitpicky, sorry, lol, he didn't gain the blessing from his mother, the dragon came to him directly, to converse with him as Grendel had a thinking mind, his...

Ah apparently I just didn't read it well enough, I just woke up hahaha

This is sweet, The John Gardner book, Grendel is one of my favorite books of all time. If you haven't read it, pick it up, it's awesome. That said, if I could make a suggestion, in the John Gardner book, Grendel has an encounter with a dragon who "blesses" Grendel with invulnerability, all...

    Custom divine abilities, portfolios, etc.

Oh cool! Mesmerist div abilities, I like it. You should make a couple to increase the range of the power as well, and maybe something to even add other effects like a bestow curse or something along those lines. Either way, pretty cool. 👍🏼

Same difference really. But sure, technicality noted. ECL is when applied to a player or npc character, its mainly for calculating experience points and such. CR is a more broad and overarching term for just a simple CR adjustment to the creature. CR and ECL can usually be used, more or less...

This is great, It's hard to quantify level adjustments properly though as you have a sliding scale of level adjustment. Initially i was like "Wow, this is way too strong for ecl+3" but, a creature Of Legend is only +2 so is Fiendish, Celestial, Huecueva, and Ghost, all of those are very strong...

    Things from my setting

Indeed, but that's a barbarian not a wizard or a npc class, likewise, I'd argue, a well specialized deity would be able to pass the 100 hardness of Orichalcum with ease if it came right down to it, likewise a well speced cosmic entity with Neutronium, the materials for the levels they're at, the...

    Things from my setting

I'd actually push it up a notch, adamantine against divine, Orichalcum against cosmic, neutronium against Transcendent, black hole against omnific. I'm my opinion, as you can't really get those materials until those levels so there should be some incentive for those beings to use those...

Indeed, exactly how I do in my campaigns. I generally will allow Adamantine and Diamond even to keep it's hardness but nothing less than that.

Oh I totally disagree, divine damage is already dealing a miniscule amount of damage and its main thing is it destroys magical barriers. You're talking 1/2 of d3s of damage? So, what, 1 damage per hd? A Greater Deity can control the powers of winter itself with his will but just, -can't- handle...

    Things from my setting

Divine Damage and its higher orders is direct damage from a Godly source, it might be "energy" in the most basic sense but it's pure divine will, destructive impulse, it definitely deals full damage. Energy Damage is usually defined as the 5 energy types in DnD at least in 3.5, Fire, Sonic...

    Sub-Epic Offerings

For the same reason I didn't make it not hurt good aligned beings. I based it more on searing light vice say something like holy smite. Good call, I'll add an addendum to it. I put it as 3rd because functionally it would basically add 30ft of movement to your character and allow them to more...

    Sub-Epic Offerings

So I made a few spells based on Elden Ring, namely some of the abilities of Morgot the Omen King and Mohg Lord of Blood, hope you all enjoy, tell me what you think? I worked with a few friends to try to balance them and make sure they're usable. Holy Daggers School evocation; Level cleric 1...
