The "No DLC" thing is mostly just a Larian preference and not specific to BG3. They've never been big on it. Amusingly, I think Patch 8 can rightfully be called DLC even if they don't use the specific term. It has all the hallmarks of a DLC, especially if we combine it with all the bonus ending...

I tend to roll in the open, but I have no strong feelings one way or the other. It's just sometime fun to be theatrical and drum up drama with an open roll for a big moment.

Stretching on my 4th choice, but went for Sleight of Hand. It IS a useful skill, but you can go entire campaigns and never notice it missing if you don't intentionally try to use it.

I'll give a humble shout out to a Gnomish Fighter/Illusionist in BG1. Hitting things with blindness then shooting them with a bow while they stagger around never gets old, and is amazing for Legacy of Bhaal difficulty.

I definitely allow it. Especially in your case where the transition is already a very natural and organic one. It really comes down to frequency for me. I'm always going to side with the player and let them transition once or twice during a campaign, and only start giving them the narrative...

Commissions open. People race to submit theirs. You get whatever spot in line you get, unless you just don't want to go with that artist. A better question is who are YOU hiring that is both awesome and consistently quick? Give them a shout out and I will definitely give them a shot!

I mean, that would be great! Sometimes I get a quality piece very quickly, and that rocks. Far more often they have several other commissions and I'm waiting my turn, then they have some emergency, or just get sluggish and send me apologies. Thankfully I usually get a solid product in the end.

Also, expect the commission to take a while. Sometimes you get lucky with lightning fast turn around, but 3+ months is far more common.
